History was made this week in a little noticed ceremony in Washington when the U.S. Navy awarded its "Sailor of the Year" award to four women.
The Navy gave the awards, among the most prestigious for enlisted personnel, to two hospital corpsmen, Ingrid Cortez and Shalanda Brewer, Navy reservist Samira McBride and cryptologic technician Cassandra Foote. Each was promoted to chief petty officer.
At a ceremony held at the Navy Memorial, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Rick West, the service's highest ranking enlisted man said, according to a Navy news release:
"This is a great day for our Navy, and today we are making history with all four Sailors of the Year being women. These sailors have proven themselves as professional sailors, experts in their rates, role models to our junior sailors and youth, and most importantly, true leaders," said West.

Thanks and great info. I know one guy for a long time. He is full of it. I even called the Navy Seals Museum in Ft. Pierce, Florida and he was not listed. What a jerk and a loser.
I wouldn't know. But say, for the sake of argument, that all four winners were black males. Would you be making the same claim?
They just want to PRETEND they are fair when everyone (including these 4 women) know its ALL BULL$HIT!
It's so easy to come to these conclusions when you know absolutely nothing about these women's backgrounds or what they did to earn the awards, isn't it? And also ignoring that four different selection committees came up with these women. No, it's far easier to assume PC and collusion and conspiracy because, after all, a woman can never, ever out-perform a man in anything.
Listen you can live lala land all you want, but anyone who has half a brain knows that this is complete B.S. This is not good for the Navy period.
One last point if you think those committees have true independence, then I have some beach front property to see you in Nevada.
Look it's going on all over our country. It's called affirmative action. Look it up and quit ignoring what your eyes and ears are telling you. God gave you that for a reason. You are behaving like a sheep heading to the slaughter.
If no affirmative action is involved, and we can assume that they all have to have passing scores in their physical tests, then the men cannot be held to a higher requirement in that category can they?
Shirley not.
