STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. --- The Consulate of Mexico last night strongly condemned the latest assault of a Mexican immigrant in Port Richmond and expressed profound concern for the recent surge in attacks on Mexican immigrants on Staten Island.
We will act decisively in order to protect our citizens and will actively promote that those guilty of these vicious attacks are brought to justice expeditiously. We are working hand-in-hand with local authorities on all levels, said the Consul General of Mexico in New York, Rubén Beltrán in a statement emailed to an Advance reporter.
In response to the escalating violence against Mexicans in Port Richmond, Staten Island, the Consulate General of Mexico in New York is posting personnel that will remain in the borough until further notice. This, in order to safeguard their rights and effectively assist and provide information to the Mexican residents of this area, Beltrán wrote.

Shouldn’t Mexicans be in Mexico?
We will act decisively in order to protect our citizens”???
How?
Hire the Zetas?
I don’t see the Mexicans condemning the countless murders, kidnaps, rapes, and robberies of American citizens at the hands of illegal Mexican aliens.
Their bleating is hypocritical to the extreme.
It should fall on deaf ears.
These aggressive maggots are making an excellent case for us to nullify in court the interpretation of the 14th Amendment that allows anchor babies to be US citizens. The 14th says that if the parents are under the jurisdiction of a foreign nation then their offspring born on US soil are not automatically entitled to be US citizens. The Mexican government is claiming its criminally minded citizens are under its jurisdiction even though in America. Aggressive Mexican government is making these kinds of statements all the time. Butting into US police and court business
Mexicans on US soil have cast votes here in Mexican elections. More proof they remain under Mexican jurisdiction
Perhaps they should return to Mexico, where they will be safe. (tongue firmly planted in cheek)
Mexican authorities should be more concerned with the social ills that drive their citizens to violate the sovereignty of the United States. Also, quelling the drug wars raging unabated on their side of the border should demand their undivided attention.
Wonder what the ratio is of illegal Mexicans harmed by Americans and Americans harmed by illegal Mexicans?
This program has a relatively low participation rate in many states and needs grassroots pressure on state legislatures to get more jurisdictions participating.
The Mexicans have more say so in the US government than the conservatives do!
Who Cares?
I condemn all of Mexico's corrupt culture. Get your thieving criminals the hell out of here.
There, I've solved all your problems. Easy/peasy lemon squeezy!
We just want you to feel like your home!
Mexcrement.
We want you to act decisively and take home any that are not here legally.
Certainly, any assault, no matter who does it to who, should be swiftly punished. But this kind of nonsense is nothing more than race-baiting.
If they are YOUR citizens, TAKE THEM HOME.
“I dont see the Mexicans condemning the countless murders, kidnaps, rapes, and robberies of American citizens at the hands of illegal Mexican aliens”
Crickets.........
I count something like 40 Mexican Consulates in the US. That is absolutely ridiculous. No foreign nation needs that many consulates in the US. They are just illegal immigrant aid stations.
The first act of the new Secretary of State in January 2013 should be to immediately inform Mexico to close 35 of those consulates.
Maybe it might be best if the consulate made arrangements to return their "citizens" to Mexico.
And I note I'm not the only one who keyed in on that phrase>

why is Mexico so wee wee’d up over Staten island?
Mexico seriously needs to mind its own business......but then again, the idiots are worried about their immigrants entering this country illegally more than they are the pounding their own drug cartels are having in distabilizing their own government. I can smell a true narco-state emerging real soon....
