This story has many “teachable moments” for conservatism

"Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry is docking his family's new $7 million yacht in neighboring Rhode Island, allowing him to avoid paying roughly $500,000 in taxes to his cash-strapped home state." I thought some democrat (Dean?) said it's un-American not to pay taxes.

Ours is a “free” country ... Moving to Nevada, Texas, and ??? is a GREAT way to avoid state income taxes.
Kerry is showing smarts ...
As much as I dislike Kerry, I dislike taxes more.

In 2004 it was reported that Bush contributed approx. 12% of his income (800K) to charity while the Kerry’s contribution was less than 1% of their income (5 million). Nothing Ketchup Boy does suprises me.

Kerry did exactly what he should have done . . . and exactly what he would condemn others for doing.

Kerry spokesman David Wade said Friday the boat is being kept at Newport Shipyard... "for long-term maintenance, upkeep and charter purposes." A Department of Revenue spokesman said Kerry would be liable for Massachusetts taxes if he berthed the boat in the Bay State within six months of its purchase.
What a hypocrite! I say about a year from now Kerry's brand new boat will be moved to Massachusetts, the brand new boat no longer needing "long-term maintenance, upkeep and charter purposes" and in a happy coincidence, Kerry and Mama T will have saved $500,000.

But the libs are always for taxes, especially on the rich. You would have thought that he would have docked in Massachusetts specifically to be liable for more taxes.
