..supposedly the SeaRam is a missle system which is supposed to improve close in combat capabilities but it is still in development..

It's completed development and has been deployed throughout the Navy fleet. It's known as the RIM-116 and it's designed to destroy hyper-sonic anti-ship missiles along with incoming aircraft. All the carriers have them.

SeaRam is a different system than what's deployed in the fleet right now. It marries the RIM-116 with a CIWS tracking system. It might be on a couple of platforms but as far as I know it is still be tested.
