He may have become reviled in working-class Bell for his nearly $800,000-a-year salary, but Chief Administrative Officer Robert Rizzo could have the last laugh. Should he be forced from his job, he would immediately gain a new title: highest-paid retiree in the state

I’d like to make $600k per year not to work. I’d be excellent at it.
looks like he quit
Bell is in gang country.
These just might get hit.
Homies families pay taxes, too.
Called the local sheriff here in Santa Cruz County. We are a small county on the central coast of California. Some crime but not up to big city standards. Well the staff at the the sheriff’s office seems to be well taken care of.
Name PARKER, TERRY
Position SHERIFFS CHF DEPUTY
Regular pay 188679.24
Overtime pay 6226.92
Total pay 194906.16
Name BRADLEY, DON
Position SHERIFFS CHF DEPUTY
Regular pay 186920.11
Overtime pay 3621.78
Total pay 190541.89
I don’t get overtime where I work because I am exempt. I would be happy with $186,920.11 per year and not ask for that overtime. Nice to be looking forward to that $150,000 per year pension.
The city council in that town is criminally negligent.
$600K to run Bell? Most of these municipal employees probably belong in prison for the way they've "run" things.
Neighboring city: Maywood, California, lays off all employees (First City in U.S. to outsource all city functions). It would be great if it was planned. But the elected scum ruined a decent (at least in the 60s and early 70s) city and brought this on.
Most of the kalifornica electorate will not even notice the collapse when it comes. Or they will cheer the rise of Aztlan.
Pray for our nation.
That’s why the dude lives in Huntington Beach
For sure. How could the citizens not have known about this earlier? The information is public and aren’t salaries approved by City Council every year? There’s got to be more to this than meets the eye.
$600k Pension my ass.
How ‘bout a perp walk, pal!
This CAN’T be legal. Spend a million prosecuting the liberal pondscum and save 30 million over the next decade.
Who set these pay scales? Where were the outraged before?
Bell citizens robbed by criminals under cover of legal office.
This is pure corruption, in broad daylight. If there are no consequences, then it’s open doors to any criminal who happens to come along.
At some point the intent of the Second Amendment comes into play. Just saying as an outside observer!
How do California state taxpayers end up footing the bill for this guys ‘retirement’?
Most people don’t go to city council meetings. I don’t blame them, for the most part they are mind-numbing. A couple of decades ago, this little town would have had its own modest newspaper, and the expenditures of the city government would have been routinely reported. The situation would never have gotten so far out of hand, because the city council would never have dared knowing it was all going to come out in the wash. But those days are long gone. Now, for some unknown reason, the LA Times turns its mighty attention on this little place and reports what’s going on. I suspect someone tipped them off, probably a city employee disgruntled about something.
Where in the heck does one of the 25 smallest cities in the US come up with $800K to pay a city manager???????
Cholo’s got Tchevies & BMW Gun-Boats, kapish?
I’m sort of feeling that maybe the entire town ought to be deported.
