RAHM EMANUEL SAYS IN HIS 2006 BOOK "The Plan, Big Ideas for America": Every citizen needs to understand and accept the essence of the American bargain “....and do his or her part by going through 3 months of basic training, civil defense preparation, and community service.

Keep in mind that Rahm speaks from personal experience.

In 1991 Rahm volunteered for “Sar’el”——a three-week Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) training program (like US boot camp) where civilians are trained to assist the Israeli military. Civilians like Rahm lived on an IDF military base to get the proper training. A civilian volunteer, Rahm assisted the IDF during the 1991 Gulf War, repairing truck brakes in one of Israel’s northern bases.

A LITTLE BIT OF RAHM BACKSTORY (1) Rahm's entree into the top echelons of govt are paved with his past victories: 4-term Congressman Rahm was beatified as the man who masterminded the Congress and WH takeover.

Rahm ran the "Our Common Values PAC" in 2005 and chaired the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee 2006-07.

Rahm had Dems winning in solid Republican districts running as "true believers." Maoist Ohaha won saying things like, "I want to be another Reagan."

Obama has stated that Rahm tells him “everything he needs to know about Israel.” Rahm’s father is an Israeli who was part of the underground resistance movement under the British Mandate.

As a dual Israeli-American citizen, it is not clear whether Rahm is permitted to serve in a high level US govt job that makes policy decisions for American citizens, and whether Rahmn should be permitted to sit next to Obama at top national security briefings.

Remember that part in Dr. Zhivago (at the beginning and end) where they’re all building dams and bridges, all in grey uniform, shuffling along like slaves? I think it’s supposed to be the 1950s?

This is all I can think of when I hear about diabolical schemes like this.

Well, I think those people (the real ones that the movie is based on) at least got to go home? The ones in the Siberian labor and death camps just had to keep working.

The very ones that whine the most about welware are the ones that don’t realize that teaching a man to fish, so to speak, will fight welfare and eventusally end it. Those women are not going to get knocked up and on the government dole if they are taught personal responsibility.

As another noted, you’ll be emptying bedpans in a ghetto.

Thanks much to both of you for the pings. I appreciate it. I haven’t had much time to comment lately, but I’m still here... just in “lurker” mode more lately. I’ve actually run out of things to say on many of these topics! (I hope no-one fainted after reading that sentence! And, no, as far as I know hell has NOT frozen over! LOL). It just seems like the same stuff over and over again, day after day and I’m finding myself repeating the same stuff over and over...

I haven’t read through the thread but don’t think it is about Rangle’s draft. Obama talked of this when campaigning and it was frightening to hear then.

Obama’s Civilian Army

THEN-PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BARACK OBAMA: We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.

Rangel's scheme seems like it's partly a military draft and also a draft imvolving a bunch of other "uniformed services" and government agencies.

Whatever it is, the occupations of all young adults will be regulated from Washington on the whim of bureaucrats who can rev up their control by declaring a national emergency.

Bottom line: it sounds dictatorial and dangerous to freedom!

Probably because it is a topic that especially bothered me, I've read a lot of threads referring to this topic before.

They've often mentioned that all school kids between the ages of ? and ? would have to do voluntary service, etc.

This seems totally illegal but then, Obama does much that 'seems' illegal.

And, why does Rangle get to keep his finger in every pie? His corruption is over powering, he should be in jail but is still out there trying to enslave American people.

He's on the front of Drudge right now, saying he will face trial.

I agree, but it’s probably because it’s more about control.

Yep. I learned in the USAF to be self-reliant. I was a volunteer, but they had just stopped drafting people when I went in. I sure didn't have any other prospects at that time!
