“Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse” By James Wesley Rawles
....part novel, part survival manual...I couldn’t put it down...after you’re done reading it, I guarantee that you’ll begin to objectively assess your own preparedness status...and btw...the triggering event in this book is economic...the government begins to print money like never before.

I just ordered “Collected Writings of Lord Acton” in three volumes, to read when I finish my three volumes of Winston Churchill’s war journalism. I have to get them all read before Anoreth comes home and confiscates them!

I am half-way through Hugh Thomas’ Rivers of Gold, about Colombus and the creation of the Spanish Empire. It is excellent.

"Only a minority of American adults read, so why are we surprised that the young falter in school?"
This is indeed a sad commentary. And too many times, the stuff we read is drivel. I suppose drivel is better than nothing. As a lifelong reader of books and magazines, it is disturbing to me. On my recently finished vacation, I was able to finish up the book I was reading and read two more. Most people understand that your body needs exercising, but your mind needs exercising even more.

Oh, so you read those magazines on the rack at the supermarket checkout counter! Is Brangelina doing okay or is Jennifer Anniston ruining their relationship this week? : )
As an aside, I've always thought Jennifer Anniston was much prettier than Angelina Jolie..

Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse By James Wesley Rawles Yes! I just bought this book and will be starting it this weekend. I've got some other 'Prepper' tomes lined up too.
I've already finished "The Last Patriot" by Brad Thor, "Act of Treason" and "Consent to Kill" by Vince Flynn and "The Deal" by Sabin Willett.

Greetings,
Currently reading “Rules of Deception” by Christopher Reich.
Just finished “”No Graves As Yet”, by Anne Perry. It is the beginning of her WWI novels. Interesting.

I’m on the FR Celebrity Gossip ping list ;-). I don’t think either Angelina or Jennifer is attractive.

For anyone interested in reading a personal account of the Vietnam war, I’d like to suggest a book by one of my club members:
The War: 61 Days, 12 Hours and 27 Minutes in Vietnam by Gerald A. Spence. It can be ordered directly at Tate Publishing.
