Sarah Palin has cause to celebrate after Tuesdays Republican primary in Georgia, where a timely endorsement helped lift her favored candidate into an Aug. 10 gubernatorial runoff. Closer to home, however, things arent looking as bright for the former governor-turned-TV personality/"tea party" tribune/prolific-Facebooker.
Georgias insurance commissioner, John Oxendine, was widely considered the GOP front-runner until Palin weighed in last week on behalf of Secretary of State Karen Handel, who finished first in Tuesday's balloting.
But the outlook doesnt seem as promising for another Palin favorite, Joe Miller, who is waging an uphill bid for U.S. Senate back in Palins home state. Palin endorsed the Fairbanks attorney in a June Facebook posting, calling him a true Commonsense Constitutional Conservative.

Thanks for posting, but it mostly shows that Alaskan voters are generally clueless if they are going to put another Murkowski in power.
And by “clueless,” I mean IDIOTS.
About as clueless as Floridians going to put idiotCrist in a Congressional seat....about as clueless as those in Nevada indicating that superidiotReid is ahead in several state polls and will likely keep his seat...?
Here is something that should be drawn from this: No one can pick winners 100% of the time.
Agreed and good points...
So they were smart for electing Palin and idiots now?
Basically, yes. Not you in particular, but the general voters.
They are in “good” company, as another poster noted. See Reid in Nevada and Crist in Florida. Heck, it looks like White might make a real run at it in Texas, which would be the epitome of insane stupidity.
Maybe “IDIOTS” was the wrong word. Short memories is probably more accurate. After all, can you really say that bringing the Murkowski aristocrisy back into power in Alaska is anything other than a failure of memory?
So Americans were smart for voting for Reagan but idiots for voting for Clinton? Lets face it, most of the voting public are clueless and just go with the flow.
Can’t speak for Alaska, and certainly not for Floriduh, but here in Georgia, Oxendine was considered a “front runner” mainly by pundits and the chattering classes who don’t know anybody outside of I-285. I didn’t talk to very many people who were fans of Oxendine and most businesspeople didn’t seem to trust him.
That said, SP’s endorsement did help Handel in a very crowded and fragmented field. The current governor was supporting Eric Johnson behind the scenes, and he didn’t make the runoff. That says less about Johnson than it does the governor.
Joe is learning that national poly-ticks is a nasty bit of business.
Lisa’s surrogates are hammering him over several past issues. Joe is not helping with a badly run/lackluster campaign to date. polls show lisa in a walk away win.
So they were smart for electing Palin and idiots now?Palin and Miller are 2 different people.
Maybe everyone but you recognizes that. Were you saying something about idiots?
Palin quit in Alaska, so I am not surprised they revolt against her. Her word is mud in Alaska it seems, and I don’t blame them either, she quit Alaska, poor move on her part and it haunts her... Given all the financial reasons for her quitting Alaska, I still have a hard time with it...
Resigned Govenor and failed VP attempt, is this really the best person the GOP has to offer in 2012 against BO? I hope not, I don’t want a second BO term...
Troll much ?
You are scraping the bottom of the barrel of desperation. Hahahaha.
This is the LA Times. They are trying to discourage Miller supporters. Don’t trust them.
“Troll Much?”
His points were valid and well presented. What do you have to offer besides a profile that consists 90% of half naked starlet publicity shots?
Bullcrap. They were the same willfully misstated anti-Palin lies/talking points put out by the liberal media, RINO establishment and other assorted haters. Frankly, between you and your girlfriend, you sound like Slick Willard disciples. Who are you supporting, n00b ?
Comprehend much?
Urged on by the other poster, I went to your home page and I approve your message! One suggestion, though: look up Aracely Arambula, from various Mexican TV programs, if you really want to see the most beautiful woman on earth.
You are misinformed.
Lisa Murkowski has been "in power" since 1998.
Her father Frank was first elected in 1980 and he appointed Lisa to his Senate seat when he was elected Governor in 2002.
Palin bucked the Alaskan political establishment. Alaska is loaded with RINO’s. However, in saying that, they are more conservative than in say, Maine.
We never had a problem with Alaska. The only reason this is even coming up is because of Palin. The Murkowski cabal will still vote with the Republicans.
