Six months have passed since Scott Brown shook the world with his upset victory over Martha Coakley in the Massachusetts special election to fill the people's seat once held by Ted Kennedy.
Brown was elected to the United States Senate in no small part due to the energy and enthusiasm of Tea Party activists. In the intervening 180 days, the euphoria of sending a Republican Senator from Massachusetts to Capitol Hill has waned amongst Tea Party enthusiasts.
Some thought the election of Brown would spell the death knell of Obamacare. As the 41st Republican senator, he put Republicans in a position to filibuster. But along came reconciliation and Brown's presence ultimately proved to be a non-factor.

You are right. Evil comes with many labels. The only solution is for God's people to turn from their wicked ways so this land may be healed.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.- 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Scott Brown just started a six year term. He's six months into it and he's clearly a supporter of almost everything Obama is doing.
Just what do you plan to do about that??
The crop of people elected in November may turn out to be very far short of what you're hoping for. You plan to "hold them accountable"? How?
I’ll check it out, thanks. But a quick skim and I got to be honest with you, it looks like classic “class envy” stuff that could have been written by the Jacksonians.
Ditto. Plus he was an easy sell to my friends in Mass because Coakley was so out of touch. He lets us buy time while we work on better reps from conservative states. We scored with Gov. McDonnell here in Virginia despite the same kind of smear campaign from the WashPost as with Allen, so it can be done.
Kinda makes one wonder if both parties aren’t working for the New World Order.
Two years.
Republicans are liberals too...
Indeed.
It was a once in a lifetime chance to “steal” a seat from a solidly blue state, for however long we can hold on to it.
Moreover, (and this is very important), the Democratic majority has to “play ball” with Brown, so they can’t ram through every single element of their crazy shit. Whether it’s things for his own state, or a few random conservative changes, they have to deal with him.
If Coakley had won, they would get everything they want, no matter how destructive. She would have been a reliable vote, with no leverage at all.
but will these committees look the same with republicans in power?will anything change...as in the past our politicians say one thing and do another...we will always be the small people since elcting them makes them the big people.
Brown has condemned himself to one term.
Better then the alternative, but he sucks.
Like the man say’s he is about what was expected.
Brown represents Kennedy’s seat so well.
Yes, of course they will look different.
National health care would have never gotten out of a Republican commitee. Hell, it barely got out of the committee in the House, and the Democrats controlled it! If it weren’t for Ross of Arkansas, NHC was finished.
Btw, FWIW, that is the same House committee that killed Hillarycare.
He has to run again in 2012. Sheesh people get the facts before spouting off.
republicans keep talking changes to obama care not recall
In case the Republicans win the House, the FIRST thing they need to do is starve Obamacare of funds.
This is something that should be asked of all candidates running.
how about total recall?
I am starting to see your point.
Doesn’t seem to make much difference who they are or what they “promise” - once they get to Washington and join the Swelled Heads Club, they’re all the same.
You have to consider that the whole electoral process is absolutley corrupted. November is not going to change anything.
I will still engage in the process, but I also know it really is not going to change anything.
Yes I have been involved and given money to candidates.
