WASHINGTON (AFP) Vice President Joe Biden brushed aside suggestions on Sunday that Democrats will suffer big losses in November midterm elections, vowing that Barack Obama's governing party will "shock the heck out of everybody."
Speaking on the ABC News program "This Week," Biden dismissed prevailing wisdom that Democrats, 17 months into Obama's transformative residency in the White House, would suffer a drubbing at the hands of salivating Republicans.
"I don't think the losses are going to be bad at all," Biden said. "I think we're going to shock the heck out of everybody."
Biden said he was "confident when people take a look at what has happened since we've taken office in November and comparing it to the alternative, we're going to be in great shape."
The vice president said he believes the Obama administration will get credit from voters for helping guide the economy out of recession and passing key legislation on health care and financial reform.
"It's just going to take time," Biden said.
"The election is not until November. And I think we're going to have to firmly make our case."
Obama has launched into campaign mode in recent weeks, hoping to transform the spectacular grassroots support from Democrats and independent voters which propelled him to the presidency in 2008 into a full-bodied platform for his party in the upcoming congressional races.

Excellent.
This should be in breaking, and some good bumperstickers need to be printed out.
Thank you.
Yes I have. Most of the ones who voted for Obama are seriously regretting their vote.
If Independents never voted Republican, then Republicans would have a hard time winning elections, considering the fact that there have always been more Democrats than Republicans, going back at least to the 1930s.
The polls say Independents favor Republican candidates over Democrat candidates in this year’s election by a substantial margin (46%-34%). I tend to believe statistics over generalized anecdotal evidence.
We need a think tank and decisive, conclusive plans to vastly ebb their ability to cheat themselves into office. I wonder how many of them would not be there if not for cheating. That, I think, is what would astound people.
I don't want to hear we can't do anything about it. I want to hear that if we need to move mountains and spend a good amount of our money and time on this we will get it done!
Imagine the following scenario.
This could be done for less than $10Million and could not be detected.
Gomer Biden, DNC comes along on Nov 3rd and says: "Surprise surprise surprise!!"
“I tend to believe statistics over generalized anecdotal evidence.”
I would love to believe statistics over generalized anecdotal evidence but I’m acquainted with too many independents (I always ask the question, from what are they independent?)
IMHO
I see your point... When I’m not working, I’m digging the bunker deeper (so to speak). Getting control of the House looks doable. If we can somehow gain a majority in the Senate; it will help.
I just found this item I hadn't heard of either: VIDEO: 'Andy Breitbart Explains It All For You' - An Exclusive Interview, Disturbing Admissions, and Manic Responses to the ACORN Video 'Pimp' Hoax
Interesting stuff indeed!
