For those with a Flex savings account- the pretax account that can be used for medical expenses- you WILL NOT be able to use them on OTC’s starting January 2011. I suggest you stock up on OTC’s anyway, SHTF or not. As for scripts, I'm sure you can convince your doc that you need an extra supply for an emergency kit. I think that a doctor might actually applaud the forethought.

Of course you could always claim you lost your brand new bottle or dropped it in the toilet and need a new one. That excuse should be good for a couple extras.

As for scripts, I'm sure you can convince your doc that you need an extra supply for an emergency kit.I've generally been able to refill my long-term prescriptions every 25 days; that allows me to accrue an extra two months worth per year if I pay attention to refill dates.
