A 20-year-old U.S. citizen was stopped at the U.S.-Mexico border crossing in Andrade on Saturday with two machine guns strapped to the engine of his pickup. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the crossing near Yuma, Ariz., noticed that the driver of the truck appeared nervous and stopped his vehicle for a closer inspection. When they popped the hood, they saw the guns, which were attached to the engine with plastic zip ties. They also found 680 rounds of ammunition...
Also found was two boxes of machine gun ammunition links, used to fashion an automated belt for the machine gun ammunition.
The vehicle, weapons and ammunition were seized. The driver, a resident of El Mirage, Ariz., will face criminal charges and was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcements Border Enforcement Security Task Force....

Ping!
...this scant bit of information probably tells you what his ethnicity was...
Now, now...are you profiling?...;)
Absolutely :)
Hmmm. was he intending to supply the other side? Druggies, coyotes...hard to say? Does not sound like a citizen wanting to help patrol the border...but the press will frame it that way. Evil militia taking machine guns to gun down helpless immigrants is how they will make it appear, when perhaps the exact opposite is true.
The only fault I can find with this fellow is his failure to call for adequate artillery preparation. As to his ethnicity, every American should know that the greatest danger to our security is the prevalence of deucedly clever Norwegian Motorcycle Gangs. After fueling up on lutefisk at Lutheran Church Suppers, they use disguise, costumes, fake dialects, makeup, and convincing cross-cultural signs. The Barney Fifes out there simply cannot see through the eyewitness testimony (duped again) and always blame the wrong ethnic group.
Sad to report, they have even managed to implicate the Amish in their fiendish Viking shenanigans. So don't jump to conclusions. That could be racist.
He was going from the U.S. into Mexico, DHS has been checking cars going into Mexico at the border for about a year.
My guess is an Anchor Baby all growed up.
That’s my question.
My guess will be that if don’t hear any more about, he was heading North.
If he was heading South, we’ll never hear the end of it.
And the guy was heading South INTO Mexico.

note to self: DO NOT look nervous at the border when carrying weapons
(just kidding)
Somehow as well, I can´t see smuggling a bunch of M-16/AR-15, M-4s from the US to Mexico - as the MSM tells us happens constantly - when the more utilitarian AK-47s are available throughout Latin America constantly smuggled in from Venezuela, Russia, China or their proxies.
Which leaves the interesting question of where he got the machine guns from?
I wonder how many times this article had to be rewritten until the author was satisfied that the absolute bare minimum of information was given?
I am sure that whatever she couldn’t accomplish, her editors managed to. “Wait. There’s too much actual information in this story. Let me fix it.”
It is truely not much but in my experiance US Customs stops inbound traffic...
Running from bar to bar on skidoos, clotheslining themselves on bobwire fences, enjoying all four days of summer, in mid-July...
Yew haf bean re-port-ted to duh Norvegian- Auntie, Defamation Leak and I suspeck-ted yew ver all alonk a damn-ed Sven. Firget your in-veetation to St. Olaf’s Day!
You bet, US customs checks northbound traffic. If you are heading into Mexico, you have to deal with the Mexican authorities. Plus, if the Mexican officials find so much as ONE round of ammo in your vehicle, then the fireworks begin. You are arrested and your vehicle is impounded. Rots of ruck ever getting it back.
This story is such an opportunistic set up.
No. This was heavier stuff, the kind that cuts right through police/military soft body armor or vehicle sheet metal. It sounds like somebody had a fairly high-level hit in mind.
In total, CBP officers found: an MG42 7.92 universal machine gun, a SA43 7.62 X54R MM machine gun, 680 rounds of ammunition, including 280 7.62 caliber rounds, 100 8mm caliber rounds, 100 22LR caliber rounds, and 200.233 caliber rounds, and two boxes of machine gun ammunition links.
They should have been mounted on his HOOD or at least
a ring mount over the back seat.
“Maybe this will sound cool if I load a 9mm and a 7.62
every other round...”
