Spain beats Netherlands 1-0 to win the World Cup. Spain's Cesc Fabregas puts Iniesta through in the box and his low shot beats Netherlands goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg for the game's only goal.
It was an ugly match, but the more deserving team won. The play was very rough and Howard Webb, the Referee did an outstanding job managing a very difficult match to officiate. All the yellow cards were deserved. A couple of missed calls on corners/goal kicks but all-in-all, a very well officiated match.
The players for the Netherlands played very roughly. The semi-final between Germany and Spain was a much better match and they were the two best teams. Both of those teams played very hard and with virtually no rough play. Probably one of the easiest matches to officiate during the entire World Cup.
It’s like watching paint dry. What a boring , one dimensionally European game.

Spain was the better team, no doubt. Webb did a good job, but I think the officials are spread too thin and miss too many important calls....
The red card was because the it was the player's second yellow card; and it was well-deserved. A second yellow card requires the red card also be shown and the player sent off. The ref had no other option.
IF Robben was held, it was minor and Robben was also pushing off. Good no-call.
It’s just that in the NFL a 3-0 game is called a 21-0 game. The NFL just engages in “score inflation.” it’s nothing but poor sportsmanship to complain about a game merely because you weren’t raised on it and because the US can’t field a team that can beat a team from the Third World.
“Too many fouls and too many dives.
But one very nice goal.”

The officials did an excellent job. As an example, they were correct on every offsides call.
Howard Webb also officiated the The European Cup Final the last time it was held, so FIFA had great confidence in him and he came through with an excellent match. Too bad the players didn’t play as well, for which I pretty much blame the Dutch. They were very rough.
Which reminded me a lot of Ghana.
The socialist nations in Europe that do not elect Muslims to run them?
Let’s see Geert Wilders versus Obama that AMERICANS elected.
Keep watching the NFL, NBA, MBL, NCAA and ESPN where they fawn and drool over Obama and spew his propaganda.
As far as freedoms - you will very soon have far fewer freedoms than most European countries. Thank idiots in America who watch TV and MCCain’s MCCain-Feingold.
Anyone else notice that in a country dominated by blacks, there was only one child of arguably a black race that walked into the stadium with the players and that girl looked like she was bi-racial? One of the kids looked to be Asian.
Same goes for the women who carried in the medals for the players in the awards ceremony. Just one of the eleven or so ladies was not caucasian; and she was also bi-racial.
Does FIFA select this participants; or does the host nation?
Naff off then.
Not a great final, except for the ending.
Sure beats the: NFL, NBA, MBL and NCAA where they act as propaganda agents for Obama 24x7x365 along with ESPN. The NFL at Thanksgiving had fawning ads for Obama. Soccer is looking pretty damn good versus retards who drool over NCAA ball games.
yea. Why so much work for so little reward? It's downright unAmerican.
Soccer IS a socialist game. Yo play with both hands behind your back...and the officials usually decide the game.
Oh yeah... and it pays to pretend to be a victim.
I am not a fan of any sport where this statement is a negative.
This is a boring sport. Australian Rules Football. Now there's a real sport.
