We haven’t had the 100 degree temps that have hit the east. It’s been raining most days and only in the high 70’s low 80’s. We still get the crowds after the little league games and other events. The county fair is coming up in a couple of weeks - we’re almost right across the street from the fair grounds, so that’s a busy time.
Things slow down a little after that until Labor Day week-end. Everyone from Chicago heads north to close up their cottages and enjoy the last week-end of summer before school starts.
Ahh well you are lucky. I didn’t realize you are in the Chicago area, It was a brutal June in MO and July is shaping up to be the same way. *sigh* Last year it was very mild all summer. Hardly had to use the ac at all...making up for it this year.
Actually, I’m about 300 miles north of Chicago - North Central Wisconon, but many Chicagoans/Illinoians have cottages on the lakes in the area.
Oh ok gotchya....no wonder you haven’t had the heat...does it get hot there at all? Bet it’s lovely there.

We usually get a few days in the 90’s with high humidity, but haven’t had anything like that this year so far.
Where are you in MO? I lived in Grandview (KC suburb) for about a year in the late 70’s.

Your job sounds harder than mine! At least I get to stay in the same city for more than a day at a time and sleep in my own bed at night. I like traveling, but not living out of a suitcase.

You know, I love my job - it’s so great not having a boss standing at your shoulder all the time and I can rearrange my schedule to make life easier, so that’s nice. And I’m a serious hotel person ~ that’s my idea of living!
The worst part is having to tell someone their ‘baby’ is ugly, if you know what I mean. Many people may know that but it’s hard to hear. But I can help people improve which is always nice :-)
