I had a 5.3 hit near me, epicenter was about30 miles away from my house or 15 miles west of Willow, Alaska. It was about a half hour ago, no big deal.

Felt it in 29 Palms.

Wife bumped into 3 diamondbacks on the back porch last night.

They say all the snakes come out after an earthquake, so look out where you walk in the late evening and early morning hours, they’re probably out and about now.

I was in a 5.5 in Federal Way, WA. My house was
about a mile from the epicenter. It went on for nearly
a minute. Chimneys were broken. Glassware danced
off the tables. I planted my hands on the hallway
walls and rode it out. The next most active was
the Landers quake. It shook all my wife’s shoe
boxes off the upper shelf of the closet and all
over me in my bed. Not a great way to wake up.

We get hundreds every day, most are under 3.0, this one just sort of bounced my recliner three times, it was very short, my wife was in the kitchen and heard the house creak a little.

I would not be bother at all, it would have to be over 5.7 or so before I get even interested.

“The Hopi Elders seem to think there will be a lot worse.

Here’s their future map”

I believe Edgar Cayce had divined maps about future status of the land mass of the continental U.S. one of em’ is to have a seaport right by Livingston Montana...where our business is...inland ocean coming thru Utah and the Great Salt Lake..also the New Madrid earthquake area in Southern Illinois opening up the Mississippi river all the way south to the southern coast...would recommend reading Lucifer’s Hammer...or We Are the Earthquake Generation. FWIW

Thanks for the Ping, Ernest.

Wow Pollywog! Thank you for posting that photo. That's a lot of damage considering the size of the quake.

Please ask your daughter to be sure and fill in the quick form at USGS called Did You Feel It?.

The more information they have for each earthquake the more they can predict and hopefully help prevent future quake-related injuries and damage to structures.

Didn’t feel it at all in Torrance. Dear Hubby told us he felt it in El Segundo. Now that I think about it, the cockatiel was off his usual schedule this afternoon, and squawked at an odd time. He probably felt it.
