First, it was Sarah Palin. Then it was Arizona Right to Life and the National Rifle Association. Most recently, the revered National Review gave its imprimatur to McCain.
When Hayworth entered the race in January, McCain was at his most vulnerable point in decades. Polling showed McCain had a lead within the margin of error and was struggling to redefine himself as a Republican loyalist. But polls now show McCain with a solid lead.
Baker said the McCain campaign may have engineered a sort of domino effect: Each endorsement shows the next group that backing McCain is a safer bet than it may have first appeared, and Republican voters seem to be following the same trend.
McCain has focused Hayworth’s reputation in Congress as a pork-barrel spender, a serious offense to many conservatives. And the senator has run an undeniably negative campaign against Hayworth, openly mocking him and attacking his credibility.
The McCain campaign has posted videos online poking fun at Hayworth for questioning the authenticity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate, suggesting that allowing gay marriage could pave the way for men to wed horses, and especially for appearing in a 2007 infomercial urging people to take advantage of “free money” from government grants.
The infomercial for the National Grants Conferences has been the most damning revelation yet, combining the promotion of government spending with a host of informercial stereotypes. It prompted the popular FOX News personality Glenn Beck to declare that Hayworth’s campaign is over.
If McCain had a more conservative challenger, National Review wrote, the endorsement might have gone elsewhere. But while Hayworth’s record is conservative, the article read, it isn’t conservative enough to make a compelling case against McCain.
“He may not be Marco Rubio, but he’s not Arlen Specter either,” the editorial said of McCain.

I just think McCain has been a huge detriment to the party and AZ GOP voters need to fire him.
I feel if it possible for the U S Senate to become ruled under the majority of the Republican party the Chrmnships he would obtain because of seniority would be important to AZ.
People criticize our other U S Senator Kyl as well and label him a RINO too. Kyl is anything but a RINO and is the number two U S Senator in leadership in the U S Senate. Kyl would be a huge loss to AZ.

McCain is an anti- first amendment pro amnesty scum sucking weasel who has supported every vile commie idea Obama has pushed. This Arizonan would rather have the seat EMPTY than McCain in it. I stopped voting for McCain when he became pro “campaign finance reform” (code for shredding the first amendment to protect incumbents) and anybody with a shred of respect for the Constitution or themselves would do the same. The WORST thing that could happen would be to give him a chairmanship for ANYTHING.
McCain is a traitor to the constitution and a threat to my Liberty and that makes him my enemy. If you support my enemy I want no part of you. Take a hike troll!
Hayworth if elected would draw straws as to committee assignments and be a minority member.

And McCain if reelected would push for amnesty, cap and tax, federal takeovers, suppression of free speech, liberal activist judges and every leftist position he can attract by crossing the aisle to hold hands with the Marxist left. No thanks. You can shove traitor McCain where the sun don’t shine.

No apology here, but a pretty good statement.
I think it's pretty obvious that the RINOs are pretty damned worried or they wouldn't be spending millions trying to defeat the conservative candidates. The fact that so many of them came to bail out McCain is evidence of this. For myself, McCain is as bad as a democrat. I already held my nose once and voted for him and having seen his trashing of JD I won't do it again.
