First, it was Sarah Palin. Then it was Arizona Right to Life and the National Rifle Association. Most recently, the revered National Review gave its imprimatur to McCain.
When Hayworth entered the race in January, McCain was at his most vulnerable point in decades. Polling showed McCain had a lead within the margin of error and was struggling to redefine himself as a Republican loyalist. But polls now show McCain with a solid lead.
Baker said the McCain campaign may have engineered a sort of domino effect: Each endorsement shows the next group that backing McCain is a safer bet than it may have first appeared, and Republican voters seem to be following the same trend.
McCain has focused Hayworths reputation in Congress as a pork-barrel spender, a serious offense to many conservatives. And the senator has run an undeniably negative campaign against Hayworth, openly mocking him and attacking his credibility.
The McCain campaign has posted videos online poking fun at Hayworth for questioning the authenticity of President Barack Obamas birth certificate, suggesting that allowing gay marriage could pave the way for men to wed horses, and especially for appearing in a 2007 infomercial urging people to take advantage of free money from government grants.
The infomercial for the National Grants Conferences has been the most damning revelation yet, combining the promotion of government spending with a host of informercial stereotypes. It prompted the popular FOX News personality Glenn Beck to declare that Hayworths campaign is over.
If McCain had a more conservative challenger, National Review wrote, the endorsement might have gone elsewhere. But while Hayworths record is conservative, the article read, it isnt conservative enough to make a compelling case against McCain.
He may not be Marco Rubio, but hes not Arlen Specter either, the editorial said of McCain.

Well, my vote is with JD......... I hope the fact many of the seniors will still be gone and unlikely to be here to vote for their “war hero” will help.. and if we can get a large turn out in the more conservative rural areas to go JD.
Look what happened with his fellow travelers here in California. They talked a tough game (especially against illegal immigration) and outspent their more conservative rivals by about a hundred to one, but within a week of winning (buying) their respective primaries, RINOs Whitman and FioRINO immediately switched to softer stances and started advertising in Spanish to “reach out” to the Latino vote. They will get my vote when hell freezes over. McCain is lying too. He’s a proven liar with a treasonous record. And he reaches out too. In the worst way.
Go, JD, GO!!
Amen.
If you don’t know, please look it all up. There was PLENTY of evidence. IIRC, instead of honestly dealing with that evidence, he pushed some POW family members against a wall.
I for the life of me cannot understand what some of these posters are really after?
it’s just weird...

Is this one permanent?
Contrary to your goal in posting those two offerings, those two posts certainly revealed you for what you are.
KKK members endorse Republicans all the time. Does that mean we shouldn’t vote for the Republicans they endorse? Does it mean that the Republican candidates support the KKK?
You are another disinformation jackass, trying to peddle John MeCain off as someone citizens of Arizona must vote for over Hayworth.
What charges have been filed against Hayworth in conjunction with Abramoff? Not one!
When did Hayworth say that Simcox or the other person you mentioned were fine upstanding Citizens and examples of people he supported? Well, he didn’t.
If this were my forum, your ass would have been history a long time ago.
I sure as hell hope so. I am so sick of the disinformation being peddled here...
I warned her that if it continues I will make it permanent.
It’s just damned odd....this poster along with a few others.
I wasted 17 days on one of them here... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2532711/posts?page=517#517
It looked like an outright disinformation campaign to me.
As I said, I’m sick of it.
He finally got tired of having his ass handed to him over and over and left.
Is it the Spanish advertising that makes you think they’ve softened or did they reverse previous statements on illegal immigration? I ask because, in Texas, Latinos are now the majority. So even conservative political candidates here “reach out” with Spanish ads.
To me, if you can’t speak English, you shouldn’t have a driver’s license or be able to vote, but nearly every legal document in Texas is in both English and Spanish.
So what is the real purpose of Spanish political ads? To win the votes of legal immigrants by advertising in their native language, even though they must speak enough English to ever become legal residents/citizens? To gain favor with Spanish-speaking illegal immigrants who can’t vote but do anyway? To be politically correct? All of the above?
Give me a break. They’re reaching out to the Latinos (and illegal aliens). They’re RINOS and they lied about their true positions. Lying comes naturally to useful idiots. They can’t help themselves. Eff ‘em!!
Rebellion is brewing!!
You can bet your sweet bippy they don’t run their false hard as nails anti-amnesty ads in Spanish. Why is that?
If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you actually support this RINO crap.
Agreed. But, all this is lumped under the "Commonsense Conservative" theme. Pragmatic, dontcha know?
” within a week of winning (buying) their respective primaries, RINOs Whitman and FioRINO immediately switched to softer stances and started advertising in Spanish to reach out to the Latino vote. “
Exactly. I read all about it right here at FR.
” Go, JD, GO!! “
AMEN>
Just remember, everybody thought”moneybags” Corzine would win back east, and he got skunked. It can happen here too!
You’re misunderstanding me. I wasn’t defending the use of Spanish political ads in California. I made an observation about Spanish political ads by conservatives in Texas and asked what you thought about it.
I don’t see the purpose of Spanish ads. If you can vote, you probably speak English. I wondered if you thought there was an actual purpose.
It was just a discussion point. Never mind.
