Judge Lets Mexico Have Voice in Court Case Against U.S. Immigration Law
Fox News ^ | 6-2-10

Posted on 07/02/2010 11:38:11 AM PDT by Justaham

Mexico gets its a say in one of the lawsuits challenging Arizona's immigration enforcement law.

A federal judge on Thursday granted Mexico's request to be allowed to file a legal brief supporting the challenge. That means the judge will consider the brief Mexico submitted previously.

Mexico says it wants to defend its citizens' rights and that the law would lead to racial profiling and hinder trade and tourism. It also says the law would hinder work against drug trafficking and related violence.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, who signed the law on April 23 and changes to it on April 30, has lawyers defending it in court.

In a statement issued last week, Brewer said she was "very disappointed" to learn of Mexico's filing and reiterated that "Arizona's immigration enforcement laws are both reasonable and constitutional."

This “judge” should be removed and incarcerated immediately.

“The Arizona law, which took effect Jan. 1,” ?

Hope that’s just a typo.

"The Arizona law, which took effect Jan. 1, punishes Arizona employers who knowingly hire individuals without valid legal documents to work in the United States."

I saw that too, but after reading further I'm guessing it was another law aimed specifically at employers, so I left it. The new law is for "immigrants" just being here illegally.

Hope that helps and I hope I'm right.

This report is lacking in details, such as the name of the federal judge, what court is this being heard in, on what grounds is the Mexico brief admissable, etc., etc.

1305 comments thus far on the Fox report. That tells you something there. It looks to me like somebody wants something bad to happen.

Mexico says it wants to defend its citizens' rights against Arizona's immigration enforcement law...............

Illegals have the US government, the Mexican government (and other Third World govts) using their power to defend, protect and advance illegals' interests. Illegals have the power of the courts and the states defending their interests.

So who is protecting the safety and security of US taxpaying citizens?

AMERICANS DEMAND TO KNOW why our Congress is not protecting us. We have yet to see the US government act to protect its citizens from these threats. Americans are being betrayed by a government that refuses to protect them.

=======================================

Violence from Mexico has already spilled over into the U.S. Will American candidates for political office start getting assassinated?

US intelligence agencies are aware of, and have briefed the US govt, on this threat.
Oct 25, 2009 American Patrol Report:
Savage Zetas, descendants of the Aztecs, known for beheading and dismembering their enemies, are integrating their primitive savagery into the US.

In his groundbreaking book, Wakeup Call from Mexico, Wilson Beck describes how the dark side of Mexico stretches back to the days of the Aztecs when hundreds of thousands of people were sacrificed and eaten each year. He says today many young men in Mexico are enamored with the idea of being descendants of the Aztecs.

Now, according to the Houston Chronicle, the brutal savage Zetas, known for beheading and dismembering their enemies, are tightening their grip on an area bordering Southern Texas. In addtion to drug cartels running rampant on US soil.

Agents feared Mexican drug cartel attack on border dam
Houston Chronicle ^ | 06/03/10 | DANE SCHILLER and JAMES PINKERTON
FR Posted by AtlasStalled

An alleged plot by a Mexican drug cartel to blow up a dam along the Texas border — and unleash billions of gallons of water into a region with millions of civilians — sent American police, federal agents and disaster officials secretly scrambling last month to thwart such an attack, authorities confirmed Wednesday. Whether or not the cartel, which is known to have stolen bulk quantities of gunpowder and dynamite, could have taken down the 5-mile-long Falcon Dam may never be known since the attack never came to pass. It may have been derailed by a stepped-up presence by the Mexican military, which was acting in part on intelligence from the U.S. government, sources said.

The warning, which swung officials into action, was based on what the federal government contends were “serious and reliable sources” and prompted the Department of Homeland Security to sound the alarm to first responders along the South Texas-Mexico border. Mexico's Zeta cartel was planning to destroy the dam not to terrorize civilians, but to get back at its rival and former ally, the Gulf cartel, which controls smuggling routes from the reservoir to the Gulf of Mexico, said Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez, head of the Southwest Border Sheriff's Coalition, as did others familiar with the alleged plot.

But in the process, massive amounts of agricultural land would stand to be flooded as well as significant parts of a region where about 4 million people live along both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. (Excerpt) Read more at chron.com

The price of accommodating Mexico (unholy alliance with drug cartels)
WND | Tom Tancredo / FR Posted June 12, 2010 by AuntB

The Mexican government continues to oppose enhanced US border security while Mexican cartels smuggle thousands of criminals and terrorists into the United States. The Obama administration continues to tolerate this national-security nightmare out of fear of offending the Mexican government and its allies in the National Council of La Raza.

Mexico's opposition to border security is rooted in the flow of money back to Mexico from the 20-30 million Mexican citizens working in the United States...over $25 billion in 2007 (as much as $50 billion in later years) – has led the Mexican government into an unholy partnership with the drug cartels. Both want open borders, and paint the American concern for border security as racist and "anti-Mexican."

What most Americans do not understand is the drug cartels control both drug smuggling and human trafficking ; they work for the cartels, and the cartels set the prices and make the rules.

Also smuggled across the border by the same networks, individuals from Brazil, Egypt and Nigeria who pay $5,000 to $10,000 each. The terrorist organization Hezbollah is operating in Mexico and Latin America and is paying the drug cartels big bucks to get its agents into the United States. "High value" individuals from Pakistan, Yemen, Iran and Afghanistan pay from $20,000-$50,000 to Mexican cartels to get into the United States.

If 15,000 to 25,000 individuals from terrorist-friendly countries are coming across our borders successfully each year, that means that since Sept. 11, 2001, most likely over 200,000 such individuals from terrorist-friendly countries have crossed our southwest border and are now residing in our communities.

Last year, 200 agents were moved from the Tucson Sector to the Canadian border, and Obama is planning to reduce total manpower in the Border Patrol by 2,000 in the coming year. (Excerpt) Read more at wnd.com .........

I don’t feel as optimistic as you do. This isn’t the first time that our legal system has been used against our people in favor of mexico and its citizens. You are probably familiar with the case of U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, in which a U.S. district attorney -— one Johnny Sutton -— actually sought out a fleeing mexican IN mexico and persuaded him to file charges against the agents.

U.S. government is much more caved in to mexico than most people realize.

Perhaps Obama could seek the help of Mexico in writing an immigration reform measure.

This has already been in progress for quite a while as mexican legislators are a fixture in the halls of OUR congress.

There’s a source of appeal right there.Foreign governments should have no say in US courts except in cases where a law targets a *specific foreign government*.Neither this AZ law nor US immigration residency laws do any such thing.

It's very common for foreign governments to file "friend of the court" briefs. The recent U.S. Supreme Court decision holding that foreigners couldn't sue in U.S. courts for securities fraud not only reiled on, but cited, the briefs that were filed by many foreign governments (who wanted U.S. courts to butt out of regulating their securities exchanges).
