This Bizzaro World situation makes Heston’s role in The Planet of the Apes look normal.

That would end my NRA membership on the spot. I can handle an occasional weird endorsement, but not this one.

I’m looking forward to the next fundraising call from the NRA.

The NRA featured Reid (ugh) in my NRA mag this month.
Let’s just say I was not pleased.

The NRA is a major fund-raising scam, using the “Rifle” portion of its name to hoodwink fools into donating money, while they lobby alternately, in concert with, then sort of against, the communists to keep the scam going.

Harry reid supports anti-gun judges, he supports funding anti-gun organizations and groups and he helps elect anti-gun Democrats all over the country.

So that makes perfect sense for the NRA to endorse him. NOT.

I called the NRA 800# earlier today upon hearing about this.

I was told the NRA had not endorsed Harry Reid in the past, does not currently endorse him, and the guy said he thought the NRA would not be likely to endorse him in the future because Reid has a B rating, and Sharron Angle has an A rating.

I felt better after hearing that...but I will be a NON-NRA member if they do endorse Reid.

Didn’t think of it until after I hung up, but a “B” for Harry Reid? What curve are they grading on?

If they are consistent they will. And I hope they DO. Maybe that will FINALLY wake up a few MILLION people to the fact that the NRA ISN’T the champion of the 2nd Amendment and Freedom they believe it is.

SUPPORT Gun Owners of America!

NRA endorsed Reid long ago. Maybe that’s how they got their “exception”

From her website Angle's issues:

Sharron Angle supports the individual constitutionally protected right of the people to keep and bear arms for security and defense of self, family, property, as well as for other lawful purposes. Sharron has been endorsed by the Gun Owners of America and has an "A" rating with the National Rifle Association (NRA).<\i>

I went to Opensecrets.com to see who was donating to Harry Reid. I couldn’t find the NRA, but the list is a “who’s who” of folks I can’t stand (or soon will be folks I can’t stand!)

Like, The Office of the Commissioner of Major League Baseball donated $16,000 to Harry Reid!!!! (*)^*&%(*% Bud Selig that a$$wipe!!!

http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/contrib.php?cid=N00009922&cycle=2010&type=P&newMem=N&recs=100

It’s enough to make me give up baseball. Cheeezzz and I have tickets for the Yankees/BlueJays game tomorrow...

I can remember some Freeper jumping on me because I dissed the NRA and now there endorsement of Reid sort of enforces my complaint as tne NRA doesn’t have any conviction. Eventho Gun Clubs require their membership mine will be void this year.

Gee the NRA stabbing us in the back by endorsing Reid? Now WHO would believe that? Anybody who remembers the NRA endorsed Reid the last time and it helped Reid slip by that's who!

This is just rank speculation from Erick Erickson, and I would suggest that we wait until the NRA-PVF endorsements actually appear before condemning the NRA.

However, I also encourage everyone to let the NRA know about your concerns in the Nevada Senate race; a deluge of phone calls to the NRA has quite a bit of effect.

If the NRA endorses Reid it will be their undoing. Most of their supporters do so because of defense of the Constitution in total as opposed to a narrow interest in the 2nd Amendment. Since Reid is one of the Constitution's greatest enemies and greatest threats, they will find it a very big mistake to do anything to support him.
