Too bad to check: NRA thinking of endorsing Reid over Sharron Angle ?
Hot Air ^ | JULY 1, 2010 | ALLAHPUNDIT

Posted on 07/01/2010 3:20:49 PM PDT by RobinMasters

Not as far-fetched as it might seem. Just last year, they sent a letter to their Nevada members urging them to thank Reid for publicly opposing reinstating the assault-weapons ban. But that was then and this is now, and knowing which way their national membership skews politically — and how activist-minded conservatives have become since tea-party fever took hold — would they dare endorse the guy grassroots righties most desperately want to replace in November?

Gonna lose a lot of donations if you do, folks.

O.K. So they are one issue. Get the SCOTUS votes on MacDonald and Heller. Ask the NRA which judges were approved by Reid and his party?

I also cancelled my Endowment Life membership last week, after more than 45 years. I spoke with the NRA-ILA office regarding Mr. LaPierre’s position with Reid.... they essentially said since he was “pro-gun” he was a good guy........my response to that was “If someone was a bank robber and serial killer, just because he’s nice to his mother just doesn’t make him a “good guy”........he’s still a “bad guy” no matter how you sugar coat it.........

They have endorsed him with that glowing love fest “special feature” article in the June issue of the American Rifleman. Three photos and two are with Reid and the NRA leadership. Now they can stay silent.

I think if they don’t endorse Angle members should bolt the organization.

I was told the NRA had not endorsed Harry Reid in the past, does not currently endorse him...

I might be wrong, but I thought NRA endorsed him in his 2004 race?

My comments were not an endorsement of their reasoning. I’ve just been involved with them for years and know what to expect. They haven’t changed how they grade candidates.
They are dealing with whores and the way they pay them to vote for us is through endorsements. If the whore turns against us and doesn’t do what he was paid to do, you don’t support him. This happenned here in Oregon with Sen Gordon Smith. When he ran he was a Freeper’s dream. He was in DC a couple of moths and sold himself to the leftists. No more endorsements and he’s gone.
It boils down to the fact that politicians are corrupt. If they stay bought you support them. Dingy Harry ha sstayed bought.

You are spot on. I won’t give up my NRA membership over any political candidate endorsement. While we need as many conservatives in office as we can get, we also need as many pro-gun people in office as we can get. Bloomberg claims to be a Republican, and I’d vote for Reid over that anti-gun scumbag in a heartbeat if he was running against him.
The fact that there are at least a few progun democrats goes a long way to prevent bad legislation from passing when they have the reins (like they have now) The NRA cannot support every conservative cause and still be the NRA.

I went to Opensecrets.com to see who was donating to Harry Reid. I couldn’t find the NRA, but the list is a “who’s who” of folks I can’t stand (or soon will be folks I can’t stand!)

Like, The Office of the Commissioner of Major League Baseball donated $16,000 to Harry Reid!!!! (*)^*&%(*% Bud Selig that a$$wipe!!!

http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/contrib.php?cid=N00009922&cycle=2010&type=P&newMem=N&recs=100

It’s enough to make me give up baseball. Cheeezzz and I have tickets for the Yankees/BlueJays game tomorrow...

I can remember some Freeper jumping on me because I dissed the NRA and now there endorsement of Reid sort of enforces my complaint as tne NRA doesn’t have any conviction. Eventho Gun Clubs require their membership mine will be void this year.

At what point does the NRA just become a faux front organization for liberals like the National Evanglical Association, or the AARP? After taking the bait on DISCLOSE you gotta wonder about them. There has got to be a better organization than the NRA.

I would not be surprised! The NRA is definitely tilting towards the Democrats lately!

Here’s the breakdown on NRA’s political donations. They give way more to Republicans than Demoncrats, and I can’t find that they’ve given any material amount to Harry Reid.

AND FOR ALL YOU IGNORANT ANTIGUN NRA HATING IDIOTS:

1. The NRA didn’t become a lobbying group until 1974.

2. While whiners complain about mail, guys like me get out the checkbook.

3. The NRA fought against Parker, not Heller. That’s because Parker was filed before Roberts and Alito. We would have lost. The NRA knows how to count to the number nine.

4. The goa has never done a single thing in it’s entire history. It’s the NRA and the SAF that filed all those lawsuits.

5. The “R” in the NRA stands for rifle. Not Republican. Get rid of Reid AFTER taking control of Congress or you’ll be whining about gun control and pleading for the NRA again. As always.

6. The antigunners hate the NRA just as much as some freepers. That explains the mentality of some freepers.

7. The media doesn’t know the name of any progun group other than the NRA. That should tell you something but you’re too stupid to understand.

8. The goa is the only gun group that asked the Supreme Court to take the narrow view. So far, they haven’t filed a single lawsuit to take responsibility for their actions. It’s the NRA and the SAF that filed all those lawsuits.

9. Lazy, stupid people always have an excuse not to get involved.

Tell me a single thing the goa has ever done on their own.

McDonald vs. Chicago. Nope, SAF.

Katrina victims? Nope, NRA.

Winnetka Lawsuits? Nope, SAF and NRA

Morton Grove Lawsuit? Nope, NRA.

San Francisco? Nope, NRA

Evanston? Nope, NRA and SAF

Parker? Nope, Robert Levy and it’s a good thing the case became Heller with Roberts and Alito or we would have lost. That’s why the NRA tried to stop it.

Heller? Nope, Levy again.

United Nations attacks? Nope, NRA as a Non Government Organization.

Free legal support for their members? Nope, NRA.

Even Basil’s Second Amendment Sisters give women’s classes

JPFO? They aren’t even a lobbying group.

Who does the leftist media fear? I’ll give you a hint, the initials are NRA.

NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN WHAT THE goa HAS EVER DONE ON THEIR OWN IN THEIR ENTIRE HISTORY. NO ONE.

I’ve noticed that the NRA seems to be going the way of all major lobbyists. Seems the more money they make, the more left/liberal they become. Used to be a member but gave it up just because of this type of action. Their deals lately stink to high heaven! Sorry to say that they are no longer supporters of the 2nd Amendment, but have become a government leech.

Also they favor incumbents over challengers. Basically they say if you support our positions we will support you. If they don’t deliver on this, why would anyone support them?
