In a 5-4 decision this morning, the Supreme Court said that a California law school can require a Christian group to open its leadership positions to all students, including those who disagree with the group's statement of faith. The majority opinion, issued by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, said that Hastings College of the Law's "all comers" policy, which required all groups to open all positions to all students, "is a reasonable, viewpoint-neutral condition on access to the student-organization forum."

The Christian Legal Society (CLS) chapter at the University of California school, Ginsburg wrote, "seeks not parity with other organizations, but a preferential exemption from Hastings' policy."

"Hastings, caught in the crossfire between a group's desire to exclude and students' demand for equal access, may reasonably draw a line in the sand permitting all organizations to express what they wish but no group to discriminate in membership." Ginsburg wrote.

From the Christianity Today article, it appears that the ruling is more nuanced than the impression given from the extract above.

The opinion (which I have not read) apparently allows for the issue to be remanded back to the 9th Circuit for a determination of whether or not the “inclusivity” requirement was being applied in a discriminatory fashion by the Hastings Law School. Seems that the Christians were required to be inclusive of all comers but the Latinos, gays, etc. were not. Oh dear. Either inclusive means all or its... gasp... discrimination!

The “inclusivists” may end up being hoist on their own petards on this one.

Could make for an interesting meeting, except that I’m willing to bet that if any Christian student showed up at a Muslim-oriented group and bagan talking about his faith, it would be considered a hate crime.

I have seen so many from the so-called “Christian Left” make that claim as if our Lord and Savior went around partying it up with sinners. The other one they they love is the verse about “judge not”, always used out of context. They know just enough Scripture to make fools of themselves using it.

But He did seek out Zacchaeus (a wee little man was he!) and supped with him. He preached the Word to every body who would listen. He didn't avoid towns but rather let the towns make their own decisions as to whether to welcome Jesus, as in the town in Samaria. The Sons of Thunder wanted to call fire down upon it. Of course Jesus didn't partake in or approve of their lifestyles but He did have to mingle with them or He would have been awfully alone.

He didn't go to mingle but be about His Father's business. ?Jesus would have been awfully alone? You GOT to be kidding! He needed to go to the mountains deliberately to be alone!

He didn't avoid towns

He did avoid one town. AND Jesus left Nazareth when His ministry began because of their unbelief.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet." (Matthew 10:14 KJV)

Just saying that had He avoided really big sinners, etc, He would have been alone.

I find that comment odd. Is this some new revelation to you and felt the need to post it? Who, exactly, did you think needed that info?

Next lawsuit using this precedent should be straight men suing to be allowed into sororities.

REALLY BIG sinners? LOL! He didn't look at sinners like you/man does. For we are all sinners, guilty of one, guilty of all.

The sinners knew they need a Savior as opposed to the 'religious' crowd.

Don’t throw it on me - that’s deception! Why did you feel the need to post it - was the question.

He went among them to bring to them the Good News of salvation through Him, and Him alone, to the Father, and to also preach the judgement of eternal punishment for those who rejected His message, punishment in an eternal Hell of fire and brimstone, where the worm dieth not. One study has shown that He preached on Hell more than any other topic, disproving the “Chriatian Left’s” projection of Him as some socialistic peacenik who “hung out” wi sinners and partookmof their sinful lifestyles. He told the adulteress to “ go and sin no more”. The Left has no use for the real Jesus, Son Of God, or His whole message not excluding or adding one jot or tittle. If they can’t distort Biblical Christianity into something that serves their socialist agenda, they dismiss it. The one thing they want nothing to do with is the Bible in its entirety and Jesus’ message of exclusivity as far as the way to Heaven. It’s inclusive in being available tomall, but exclusive in that there’s only one, narrow way.

Do you always use manipulation to avoid answering a question?

Now you got a learning lesson on wisdom and discernment from a Holy Spirit filled Christian. Pointing out what you ‘claim’ not to see/know for it’s NOT invisible.

Manipulation is your tool but it doesn’t work on Spirit filled Christians.

Along with not answering a question regarding your own post - but instead chooses deceptive means of not answering it - puts on light on your ‘fruit’.

“For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.”

I see. Condemned because I don't have the Holy Ghost based on a half dozen posts. And you didn't even offer me a way out of my dilemma.

Based on your posts it's unlikely that you are going to say a prayer for me so let me say a prayer for both of us.

Dear Ancient of Days, I pray to you through the Intercessor, Your son, Jesus. He prayed in John 17 for the unity of the church, that all who are in You and You that are in us can live harmonious lives and work toward the Kingdom that will surely come. Please bring peace between us and instead of bickering back and forth, use us for Your will and Your way. In Your name I pray, Amen.
