I didn’t realize that that was the goal of religion - to “attract” people. I guess that’s the reason that there are so many churches falling for the “emergent” philosophies. They’ve fallen for the idea that they are to “attract” people.

If you believe that you should not "attract" people to your beliefs then why criticize them for theirs? What is the point?

It’s not up to us to “criticize”. It is up to us to quote the truth. This truth is written on your heart and revealed in creation (Rom 2:14), so that “men are without excuse” (Rom 1:20). Your conscience can then bear witness and accuse or defend you (Rom 2:15).

“Religions” that affirm that an individual is a “good person” may be “attractive” to that person, but it is doing a huge disservice by affirming a lie and leaving them thrashing out there trying to justify themselves through “works”, when such works amount to nothing in the realm of salvation.
