As we first reported last week, in an article that was met with much original skepticism, the Pentagon has now confirmed that a fleet of 12 warships has passed the Suez Canal, and is now likely awaiting orders to support the escalation in the Persian Gulf. The attached image from Stratfor shows the latest positioning of US aircraft carrier groups as of June 23: the USS Harry Truman (CVN-75) is now right next to USS Eisenhower (CVN 69), both of which are waiting patiently just off Iran.
As for the catalyst the two carriers may be anticipating, we provide the following update from the Gulf Daily News where we read that Israel may be on the verge of an attack of Iran, with an incursion originating from military bases in Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Israel is massing warplanes in the Caucasus for an attack on Iran, it was revealed yesterday.
Preparations are underway to launch the military attack from Azerbaijan and Georgia, reports our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej, quoting military sources.
Israel was, in fact, training pilots in Turkey to launch the strike and was smuggling planes into Georgia using Turkish airspace, they said.
However, Turkey was unaware of Israel's intention of transferring the planes to Georgia, the sources said.
The unexpected crisis between Israel and Turkey following an Israeli commando raid on an aid flotilla bound for Gaza Strip hit Israeli calculations.
Azerbaijan-based intelligence units, working under the cover of technicians, trainers and consultants, have helped with the preparations, the sources said.
Military equipment, mostly supplied by the US, was transported to a Georgian port via the Black Sea.
Georgian coastguard and Israeli controllers are co-operating to hide the operations from Russian vessels, said the sources.
They point out that according to Israel, it will not be in a position to launch a strike on Iran without using bases in Georgia and Azerbaijan due to the limited capabilities of its nuclear submarines stationed near the Iranian coast.
Meanwhile, Iran's Press TV reported that a very large contingent of US ground forces had massed in Azerbaijan, near the Iranian border. The independent Azerbaijani news website Trend confirmed the report.
Those reports came just days after the Pentagon confirmed that an unusually large fleet of US warships had indeed passed through Egypt's Suez Canal en route to the Gulf. At least one Israeli warship reportedly joined the American armada.
Press TV also quoted Iranian Revolultionary Guard Brigadier General Mehdi Moini as saying that the country's forces are mobilised and ready to face Israelli and American "misadventures" near its borders.
* Iran last night said it has cancelled plans to send an aid ship to the Gaza Strip as Israel "had sent a letter to the UN saying that the presence of Iranian and Lebanese ships in the Gaza area will be considered a declaration of war on that regime and it will confront it," Irna said.
We caution readers to take this news with a grain of salt as the Gulf Daily News' sister publication, Akhbar Al Khaleej, has a slightly less than stellar credibility rating. Then again, this is what some, Breaking News Online most notably, said about last week's carrier news, urging readers to ignore it.
“USS Carrier Harry Truman Now Officially Just Off Iran ... Imminent Tehran Raid”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!.... .Thud
That is funny.
They are all stooges of the oligarchy.
The oligarchy wants to bring the USA to its knees or lower in order to insure an easier rising of the global government on the ashes of Western Christian society.
And the dreams and visions of Christians seeing such happening have been escalating the last year or so, IIRC.
I don't think the Truman has any THUDs on board.
If 0bummer was trying to start a war with Iran all he'd need to do is give Israel all the ordinances they need: starting with at least 2000 JDAM guidance kits instead of a pitiful 100 they actually delivered. In comparison, the USA has approx 52,000 in their inventory btw.
Alex, is that you? I have a hard time believing that China dances to international puppet masters. Obama, sure. Putin? Doubtful. China? No.
I don’t believe this post at all. If this poster knew that much he’d be dead by now.

Iran literally is surrounded by American troops, notes an oil market analyst, Energy and Capital editor Christian A. DeHaemer. There is no evidence of an imminent attack, but he connects a number of recent events and the presence of American soldiers to warn that oil prices might soar -- with or without a pre-emptive strike aimed at stopping Irans nuclear power ambitions.
Iran is bordered on the east by Pakistan and Afghanistan, where U.S. troops have been waging a costly war, in terms of money and lives, against Taliban, Al-Qaeda and other terrorists.
The Persian Gulf is on Irans southern border, and last weeks report, confirmed by the Pentagon, that 11 warships had sailed through the Suez Canal, raised alarm bells that the U.S. is ready to fight to keep the Persian Gulf open.
Iran has threatened it could close the waterway, where 40 percent of the worlds oil flows in tankers, if the United Nations or the United States by itself carry out harsh energy sanctions against the Islamic Republic. An Israeli ship has also reportedly joined the U.S. armada.
Kuwait, which is heavily armed by the U.S. and is home to American bases, is located on the southwestern border of Iran. The countrys western neighbors are Turkey and Iraq, also home to American bases, and Turkmenistan, the Caspian Sea and Azerbaijan are the Islamic Republics northern neighbors.
The U.S.army last year advanced military cooperation with Turkmenistan. An independent Caspian news agency has confirmed unusually heavy activity of American troops along the border with Iran. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards' Brigadier General Mehdi Moini said last week that his forces increased patrols, including tanks and anti-aircraft units, along the border with Azerbaijan because they noticed increased American activity. Iran charged that Israeli forces were also present, sparking a virtual war alert among the Iranian Guards.
In addition, the Times of London reported earlier this month that Saudi Arabia has agreed to open its air space for Israel Air Force jets, a claim that the Saudi monarchy denied. It similar denied Iranian news agency claims that Israeli helicopters unloaded military equipment at a northwestern Saudi Arabian air base, from where Israeli planes theoretically could reach Iran in the shorts possible time.
There has been no confirmation of Israel-Saudi cooperation from any other source, but one IDF reserve officer, who has been involved in secret military projects for private companies, told Israel National News that the it could be true if both countries found it in their common interests. Saudi Arabia does not recognize Israel and has treated the Jewish State with disdain. However, the possibility of Iran's dominating the Arab world with nuclear power has changed all political scenarios.
Several defense websites have reported that Israel is deploying one to three German-made nuclear submarines in the Persian Gulf as a defensive measure against the possibility of a missile attacks from Lebanon and Syria, as well as Iran.
The submarines of Flotilla 7 Dolphin, Tekuma and Leviathan have visited the Gulf before, DeHaemer wrote, but the decision has now been taken to ensure a permanent presence of at least one of the vessels.
Amid the buzz of increased military activity around Iran looms the specter of higher oil prices, which is DeHaemer's field of expertise. The last oil price shock in the Middle East was in 1990 when the United States invaded Iraq for invading Kuwait. The price per barrel of oil went from $21 to $28 on August 6...to $46 by mid-October. The looming Iran War is not priced in, he warned in his news letter.
Iran has the third-highest oil reserves in the world and is second only to Saudi Arabia in production. If any action prevents the flow of Iranian oil, the price of black gold would soar, he added.

Iran can produce a nuclear bomb within six months, according to the German Intelligence Agency (BND). If they want to, [the Iranians] will be able to set off a uranium bomb within six months, an agency source told the German weekly Stern.
The source said that the BND has no doubt that Irans nuclear program is aimed exclusively at enriching uranium to produce nuclear weapons. The German agency estimates, however, that it will take Iran three years to produce suitable ballistic missiles to deliver nuclear warheads.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Iran has enriched over 1.3 tons of uranium with 7,000 centrifuges at its Natanz plant, enough for one or two nuclear bombs.
The German news agency DPA expressed caution at the report, quoting experts who said Iran would have to throw out IAEA inspectors in order to further enrich the uranium and create a nuclear device.
You cannot [make a weapon] in Natanz without the IAEA knowing about it, a diplomat said. Another diplomatic source closely monitoring the situation in Iran said he would be surprised if Tehran could develop a nuclear weapon in such a short amount of time.
The BND has denied the report. (IsraelNationalNews.com)
Thanks for posting it on this thread I thought it was relevant. I posted the story earlier and at first thought it was kind of strange that they would write that in that manner as if it wasn’t about Nukes and Obama against other Muslims? then someone mentioned we need Oil and I thought can you just imagine Obama’s War For Oil!
Zero Hedge has another did you see this one?

U.S. President Barack Obamas policies have left an Israeli attack on Iran the only option in preventing the Muslim country from obtaining a nuclear weapon, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton wrote in The Washington Post Thursday.
In an article headlined Time for an Israeli Strike? Bolton answered his own question by stating, "Israel's decision of whether to use military force against Tehran's nuclear weapons program is more urgent than ever Those who oppose Iran acquiring nuclear weapons are left in the near term with only the option of targeted military force against its weapons facilities.
Iran's Nuclear Threat "Never in Doubt"
A long-time supporter of Israel and a harsh critic of the U.N., Bolton claimed that the Iranian nuclear threat was never in doubt during the American presidential campaign, but is even more certain following the apparent failure of the resistance movement in Iran.
With no other timely option, the already compelling logic for an Israeli strike is nearly inexorable. Israel is undoubtedly ratcheting forward its decision-making process. President Obama is almost certainly not, Bolton wrote.
He chastised the Obama administration for strategic and tactical flaws by continuing its effort to negotiate with Iran. Bolton declared that American officials think Iran will be more anxious than ever to be accepted following the alleged rigged victory of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in last months election.
John Bolton:
Tehran isn't going to negotiate in good faith, Bolton maintained. It hasn't [done so] for the past six years with the European Union as our surrogates, and it won't start now Second, given Iran's nuclear progress, even if the stronger sanctions Obama has threatened could be agreed upon, they would not prevent Iran from fabricating weapons and delivery systems when it chooses, as it has been striving to do for the past 20 years. Time is too short, and sanctions failed long ago.
Time is too short, and sanctions failed long ago.
Bolton expressed fears of President Obamas Plan B that would allow Iran to proceed with its nuclear program for peaceful purposes while publicly stating it has no military objectives. Obama would define such an outcome as 'success, even though in reality it would hardly be different from what Iran is doing and saying now, the former ambassador continued. Anyone who believes the Revolutionary Guard Corps will abandon its weaponization and ballistic missile programs probably believes that there was no fraud in Iran's June 12 election.
Bolton wrote that negotiations with Iran would place Israel in an even more dangerous trap."
Failure to stage a pre-emptive attack on Iran means that the world must be prepared for an Iran with nuclear weapons, which some, including Obama advisers, believe could be contained and deterred, Bolton reasoned. That is not a hypothesis we should seek to test in the real world. The cost of error could be fatal.
I remember that too can’t recall the article though. There was recently this interesting piece.
Origins of the Cold War: How Stalin Foiled a New World Order
Relevance for the Present
No, I didn’t, but I’ll look at it ... thanks ...
Ahhh... so we owe “thanks” to Stalin for us not being subjected under the “New World Order” a long time ago ... LOL ...
That’s a beautiful piece of irony ... :-)
Looks like a typical 7th and 5th Fleet deployment schedule to me.
Ummm..., isn't that the goal ... to make it look "typical" ... LOL ...
CIA files declassified in the last 18 months documented that “we” [the oligarchy] had put Mao in power. Even I was shocked.
Bush Sr’s ?granddad? helped fund Hitler and cronies put the Communist party in power in Russia. This has been going on a long time.

Scripture does indicate that some countries will be somewhat restive and unwillingly compliant partners under the Anti Christ’s control. However, for 3.5 years to maybe 7 years, he will be in virtually total control of all Nations. Scripture is pretty clear about that.
Thanks.
Stalin was also a puppet though it seems preposterous. I think it wasn’t God’s timing yet . . .
zerohedge has a very poor record for its “hot breaking news” stories. I’ve seen at least three “never mind”’s in just a couple of months on other articles.
Yes it is but I don’t think they are done with it yet that was just a set back imho.
When Carrier Strike Groups transit the Suez, it's no secret. When they transit Bab el-Mandeb, it's no secret. When they transit Hormuz, it's no secret. They're huge. They can be spotted from land and from air all the while trying to dodge the countless fishing dhows and cargo ships in the area. And every fisherman, deckhand and goat-herder living in a tent has got a cell phone these days. They all know where we're going.
And this planned, routine turnover of carriers was reported on the Navy Times website.
The time to worry is if one of the Groups doesnt start the transit of the Suez Canal within 2 weeks. Then its time to break out the popcorn.
Not really. Keeping two CSGs on station in the Gulf isn't all that unusual. I did an '06-'07 cruise on board Ike and we were joined by, IIRC, the Stennis throughout most of the deployment. It was mostly uneventful.
