Huckabee: I'm the 2010 Republican frontrunner (gag)
Politico ^ | 06/27/2010 | Staff

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee continued to insist on Sunday that he won’t make a decision on another presidential run until after this fall's midterm elections.

“I haven’t closed the door. I think that would be foolish on my part, especially when poll after poll shows that there is strong sentiment out there. I end up leading a lot of the polls. I’m the Republican that clearly, at this point, does better against Obama than any other Republican,” said Huckabee, a Fox News contributor, on "Fox News Sunday.

Mike is promoting himself so his 3 year contract with Fox will be renewed.

He's not electable. But should he decide to run, which home State will he claim as his own? Arkansas or Florida?

Hint..He's all washed up in Arkansas.

"What POLLS indicate THIS?"

None that I'm aware, and I happen to watch the polls pretty closely. I haven't seen a single poll that has Huckabee beating Obama, in fact, most have Huckabee running behind Romney, which of course is nothing to write home about either.

Most polls have it Romney, Huckabee, Palin in that order and usually within 10-points of each other, then there's the rest of the field in the low single-digits, occasionally with Gingrich in double-digits.

Seems to me that while all of the GOP, Conservatives and Tea Party people fight among themselves over who should be president, the nominee somehow gets picked in Iowa by a bunch of left leaning people. Isn’t that how we got McCain? Just wondering.

Exactly.

I have my preferences, but I’m standing 100% behind the nominee we get because we cannot endure another 4 years of the man we have now.

You make a brilliant comment about the GOP nominee not being selected by We, The People but you're going to stand behind him or her regardless? That doesn't make sense.

Dear God, lets not have another huck/McCain race, okay?

That scenario proves that Huckabee is nothing more than the establishment stalking horse. And his demand Romney drop out of the race 'for the good of the party' when Romney had almost twice as many delegates was the most laughable thing about the RNC 08 race. Well, almost as laughable as:

"I raised taxes because children need roads." ~ Huckabee, 2008 debates

I am so tired of “the Newt's” face being put out there to give his opinion on any news outlet. This jerk effectively ended the Republican Revolution with his whining about being bipartisan, and needing to give in to those across the aisle so they wouldn't't feel so left out and angry. Surely the Demoncrats would appreciate and return such gentlemanly behavior when they were in power.

Bush put me off big time with his "Big Tent" (hurl), and his Dad's use of the term "New World Order". Which Jr. took off with in his desire to see a "Free Trade Zone" from the north of Canada to the tip of Cape Horn. Without mentioning that this means open borders, truck drivers from the north of Canada to the tip of Cape Horn. People coming here to sell their woven baskets, never to go home again, and a great loss of our self determination.

I have grave doubts that the Republican Party will run anyone but Jeb Bush for their Presidential candidate, especially given his wife, I believe, is from South of the Border ancestry. Frankly I have seen enough of the Bush Dynasty to know it's not good for America.

It’s the media once again trying to foist our presidential candidate on us. They got away with it with McCain. Now we have to that this does not happen again.

That was Reagan, actually, though when he used it he said "Tierra del Fuego." (If I remember correctly).

Of course he isn't electable. The danger is that he will siphon off enough conservative votes in the South to hand the nomination to Romney.

The only way huckelberry is the front runner in the Republican primary is if the only person running against him was obeyme, and then I am not sure. The only possible Republican who is worse than the huckster would be cut and run, but I am not worried about him because he is not a Republican and in all the time he has spent in Washington has never accomplished a thing.

Mutt Romney will never win a national election unless that liberal puke runs in the demonrat party.

I don't think Romney will be a factor either.

We need new blood and it's still too soon to promote our new candidates :)

Once again. If he is the standard bearer for the GOP, no matter who wins in ‘12 the democrats win.

Huck, Romney, Gingrich, and many others are really competing for who has the largest ego. I'd rather vote for Sarah Palin in ‘12, thank you very much.

The ones to watch are Daniels, Christy, Brewer (good for VP nod) and of course Palin. I tend to think Christy would be the one at this point.

If we can get him to run. I would like to see Palin run the GOP instead of running for POTUS.

Congratulations Huckster. You can be the 2010 frontrunner but you won’t be the 2012 frontrunner. You are such an ego maniac. I can’t stand him or his fat ugly family.
