This is a really important discovery, but the photos are just awful. I hope this gets more thorough treatment with better pix soon. Thanks for the post.

now, this cant be real, can it?? Why do you say this? Are you reading more into then is there? From what I see it's a painting of what they believed Peter and Paul looked like. Do you think there is more to this?

The interesting thing to me is, the artist had to have the idea of what he was painting from an even earlier depiction of the Apostles and Christ.
INOW, the artist was not painting from first hand memory, they had to have seen those 4 depicted in artwork beforehand.
