Twice last week, Bill O'Reilly booked conservative Republican stars on his show--Sarah Palin and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) -- and came at them from the unexpected stance of defending President Obama. With Palin, he defended Obama's handling of the BP spill. With Bachmann, he disagreed with her criticism of how the BP escrow fund was set-up.
All of that sparked an outraged rant from radio host Mark Levin, which the Right Scoop has captured and put online. In it, Levin makes the case that a lot of conservatives who don't have to worry about re-election are making--that, yes, the president "shook down" BP, and that O'Reilly is a "phony, populist idiot" for thinking otherwise.

"Let me explain something to you, Mr. Cable TV!" says Levin, not using O'Reilly's name. "British Petroleum was in the back pocket of the Democrat Party! It gave Obama a million dollars. It backs cap and trade!" And he defends Rep. Joe Barton for "speaking the truth."
He may have been inarticulate about it. There was no need to apologize to BP. I get that. But if you have an IQ over 12, you get his point, which was: we can't have a president with the power to decide when a company has to cough up tens of billions of dollars, without legislation, without oversight... this is why we have a rule of law, to sort these things out. Not a president who brings this people before him and threatens them! Here's a relevant segment from O'Reilly's interview with Bachmann, in which he gets her to basically support the idea of the fund -- Levin, reflecting a good amount of opinion out there, is so angry about the process that he sees O'Reilly as a useful idiot for even asking this.

Ted Baxter bump!
I quit watching him after he needed a primer in “Socialism” from Brit Hume, and Karl Rove.
What kind of idiot needs...begs...to have socialism explained to him on the air, after he’s repeatedly emabarrassed himself on that matter?
O’Reilly is angling for another one-on-one sit down with Obama. Period. And, given the enormous slide his polls have taken, O’Reilly is likely to get it.
I don’t know why, and I know the circumstances aren’t comparable, but he reminds me of the CNN characters in Baghdad who refused to report the atrocities going on there under Saddam Heussein because they feared losing their access, and being booted out. I guess it’s just media whoring of a lesser magnitude.
“[0bama] reminds me of the CNN characters in Baghdad who refused to report the atrocities going on there under Saddam Hussein because they feared losing their access, and being booted out. I guess its just media whoring of a lesser magnitude.”
Exactly.
O’Reilly is a Saudi puppet now, and a sellout to the dirty Moslem in the WH.
I do not believe the purchase by the Saudis is that large to begin with, it is a small amount bought.
The whole thing is silly.
Some people have their Idols, Gunner doesnt care for sycophants.
What needs to be said?
I don’t understand why Glenn Beck, who clearly gets it, would befriend BOR. Beck jokes it away, but it still makes no sense to me.
Weird, huh?
The bigmouth, long-legged hack daddy, 0’pinhed!
You’re telling me your check isn’t signed by Sunstein or Rahm.
So it’s Soros, or Stern? Maybe the ACORN guy?
COINCIDENCE??????
I have an idea n00bie, kiss my ass again and we will call it even.
Better yet find a new line of BS as this one was stupid to start with and just gets stupider as you go.
When he starts to make comments with guests about ObowMao like this: “your smarter than me” or “maybe I’m naive” I turn the channel.
Then he talks about how tough he is and how much people are afraid to come on his show. Please. Bill O’waterboy.
He reminds me of those 3 monkeys, see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. Last night he and Bernie Goldburg had their own little slobbering love affair about how fair and balanced he is when it comes to 0.
Good comeback.
It is impolite to mention someone without pinging him. Humblegunner is no exception.
Hi, Humblegunner.
Timely comeback.
Dang stalkers!
Yeah, and BOR works hard to keep the award.
I can't image what is going through BOR's mind when he takes these positions, is he just trying to avoid agreeing with Beck?
Big smooch!
