Governor Jan Brewer Learns of President’s Directive to Sue Arizona
AZGovenor.gov ^ | June 17 2010 | Governor Jan Brewer

Posted on 06/17/2010 4:54:39 PM PDT by curth

PHOENIX – Governor Jan Brewer said she was stunned and angered to learn during an Ecuadorean television interview with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that the Obama Administration had decided to sue Arizona over its recently passed anti-illegal immigration law, SB1070.

Video of the interview can be seen at Governor Brewer’s Arizona Border Security Information website: www.azgovernor.gov/AZBorderSecurity.asp Secretary Clinton announced during the interview on June 8th that President Obama has directed the U.S. Justice Department to “bring a lawsuit against the Arizona law.”

“This is no way to treat the people of Arizona,” said Governor Brewer. “To learn of this lawsuit through an Ecuadorean interview with the Secretary of State is just outrageous. If our own government intends to sue our state to prevent illegal immigration enforcement, the least it can do is inform us before it informs the citizens of another nation.”

Governor Brewer said, “I just visited with the President in the Oval Office about our differences over immigration policy, and the one firm understanding we had was that within two weeks he would provide details of his commitment to deploy National Guard troops to the border. While I am grateful that communications have taken place about a possible visit by Administration staff before the end of the month, there is not yet a confirmed date. More importantly, no information about additional troop and border security enhancements has been provided by the Obama Administration to the citizens of Arizona.”

Governor Brewer recently announced the creation of a legal defense fund for private contributions in defense of Arizona’s illegal immigration enforcement measures – www.keepazsafe.com.

Over $22,000 in contributions have been made to the border legal defense fund since its announcement yesterday evening. Over $26,000 had previously been sent unsolicited to the Governor for legal defense of Arizona, for an approximate total of $48,000 in the fund.

It is entirely possible BO/BS is trying to push the people into violence so he can justify calling out his storm troopers to suppress any defense of the Constitution and suspending elections, thereby ensuring he and his fellow marxists remain in power indefinitely.

I agree..pushing hard for that "National Emergency" so that elections are called off, the US military is faced with drawing down on US citizens.....

Pray that "Oathkeepers" grows and succeeds.

Declaration of Orders We Will NOT Obey

I can envision a scenario wherein if the US military refuses to obey orders to attack the citizenry, all funds will be cut off..no money for food or supplies of any kind for our soldiers.

Don't think they won't do it.

I for the life of me don’t understand the GOP. They are letting the RATS dictate the terms of the debate. They have allowed the media to control the language of the debate.

It would be nice to see the GOP put on the brass knuckles, and absolutely let it fly with the RATS, and let loose on the dinosaur media as well.

“Perhaps the bill can be named after Reagan who signed an amenesty bill on his watch. Just saying.”

You must have been sleeping when Reagan said the 1986 Amnesty was to be a one-time deal with serious enforcement to follow.

You know, the enforcement part of the law that none of his successors bothered to take seriously. Especially the fools who spouted nonsense like “jobs Americans won’t do”.

It's surreal.

It is "surreal." Each and every day, I can't get over what I read here and elsewhere. It's truly unbelievable - surreal.

I knew that he would be bad, but never imagined he'd be THIS bad.

George Bush all but destroyed the GOP. The last decent Republican President was Reagan.

This should be a huge campaign issue. Rat-Controlled federal government is literally attacking state-local gov.

Which states will be next and which voters choices will be nullified by the RATs in DC if they are allowed to continue?

It has nothing whatsoever to do with “what people want” - it’s a matter of following the law or doing what is expedient. It’s states rights versus federal rights...showdown time.

The fed needs the money that the illegals provide. The states get left holding the bill. (simple explanation, but not that far from the truth)

Yeah, Eisenhower and Reagan stand in the shadow of Dubya’s greatness /sarc.
But thanks for playing the inane post of the day game.

“Just wait. One tiny little mis-step and she will be termed a RINO also by the self-righteous pure conservatives.”

We do have our share of nut-jobs, don't we? And, it appears they make much higher demands of Republican women.

“Did Reagan sign an amnesty bill or not?”

Did Reagan state that it was to be a one time amnesty followed with enforcement or not?

You can take the ‘organizer’ out of the ghetto, but you can never take the ghetto out of the ‘organizer’. Obama is just acting like the Chicago ghetto trash he really is.

Liberals have the same regard for the Bible as they do for our Constitution.

I don’t care about your justifications as to why Reagan signed. The question I asked is answered either yes or no... not yes, but or no, but. So, I’ll ask it again: Did Reagan sign an amnesty bill?
