3,000 US Troops Needed to Secure Arizona Counties from Mexican control-Obama fails to act as Commander and Chief Obama is not "Commander and Chief" or the Chief Executive directly in charge of securing our border. He has been a dismal failure and in some instances has damaged national security by suspending the building of the fence.Multiple news stories from Arizona showing how Mexican Drug Cartels have taken control of three Arizona counties, endangering American lives and the encroachment of our national sovereignty. All this going on while President Obama's justice department prepares to file a lawsuit against Arizona's new immigration law.

If the guard can’t be deployed, then call out the militia or have the sheriff deputize volunteers.

I have a question, has Jan Brewer mobilized the Arizona National Guard to the border? If not, why not?

Important point. Always divide the number of troops by 3, as in three eight-hour shifts. So 3,000 troops means 1,000 troops at any given time.

Then reduce that number again by the number of support personnel among those troops. They’re going to need so much support that they will be lucky to have 100-200 actively working at once.

But that is enough to cover a substantial amount of border.

Send 10,000 National Guard, with loaded weapons. From what I understand, militia is being formed now.

I’ve wondered the same thing. It’s time for the Governors to tell the Feds to stuff it.

Governor Brewer cna order Arizona Guards to the border , but all the weapons and vehicles they use and Federal property and can not be used without obama’s permission. Do you suggest that we send American soldiers to “protect “ the border unarmed. Mexican drug dealers are now being escorted across the border by Mexican arm units.

I think they should deploy snipers as well. Pick them off as they cross the border. It wouldn’t take very long for that word to spread.

I say she should order it and screw Obama. Possession is 9/10s of the law, and it needs to be done. Obama can sue later, and screw his own pooch (don’t start with the sasquatch jokes) that way, because he is an unconstitutional president whose orders ARE NOT LEGAL to begin with.

But then I thought they were also to be disbursed to 3 or 4 states, not just AZ?

Too much is a stake to really stop illegal immigration-VOTES and MONEY(drugs)! Surely by now you have noticed that nothing is ever really done. For example, there will be a start on say a fence, then construction on the fence stops. Worthless "virtual fencing" is initiated now the government is stopping that. Border patrol officers are harassed.

The only thing that will stop the illegals would be citizen intervention with forceable expulsion and we are not ready to do that. It should also be noted that we do not have effective leadership.

Frankly, it looks like the Mexican is winning and will eventually takeover. The only conquest in history achieved solely through the medium of words.

Task the Arizona with the job. Deputize the national guard members and go get em.

All it takes is will to wade in and grab em up.

I would like to see a “state corridor” run parallel to the federal international border. As soon as illegals enter the state corridor they should be either seized or fired upon Problem solved.

3,000 is the tip of the iceberg as to what is needed.

I would guess that 1000 special ops boots on the ground plus requisite support personnel would reduce that area to a tame parkland within 30 days. Dead bodies and heads on poles along the border line would surely proove a deterrent.

Where did you hear that? Are they state run militia or just American citizens who have had enough?

Money, while the states may use the Guard when the feds are not using it, they have to pay for it. Unless they get pre-approval from the feds, and then they can be reimbursed, for "civil" operations.

The Guard is not the militia of old. Or at least it's only related to it. Guard members are also federal military reservists. They wear two hats. Guess which one has priority and pays the bills?
