99 weeks...... so when you can sit on unemployment for 5 weeks shy of TWO YEARS, the incentive to find a job is found..........................?

It depends on the circumstances of the recipient. For some, UI benefits are not nearly enough to get by. For others, it is enough, if even barely, and so they are content to not aggressively look for work.

...and I talked to a BIG employer tonight, and told him that if I had a job applicant come in and I saw a two year gap in employment, I would show him the door. If a guy came in as an engineer, who worked the last six months at Price Chopper, I would hire him on the spot.

No, the problem is that you have to tax businesses for this unemployment extension...yeah, the very same businesses that are expected to HIRE? Not going to happen if this bill in any form passes. Why would they hire for x amount per year only to have twice that taxed on them by the govt? They’ll just take their company overseas (if they can).
