Warmest May on record Worldwide
Associated Press ^ | June 15, 2010 | Associated Press

And the heat goes on: It was the warmest May on record.

Worldwide, the average temperature for the month was 58.6 degrees Fahrenheit (14.8 Celsius), the warmest May on record, back to 1880.

That was 1.24 degrees F (0.69 C) warmer than average for the month as the planet's temperature continues to climb. Atmospheric scientists generally attribute the rising readings to the greenhouse effect, with man-made chemicals added to the atmosphere trapping heat from the sun that previously would have gone back out into space.

Interesting that they start these 'records' in the mid 1880s, when the earth was coming out of a Little Ice Age. ANY high temps will look un-natural in comparison.

The earth was warmer during the Medieval Warm Period, before the advent of SUVs and the use of fossil fuels, but the Anthropogenic Global Warming folks will never admit that.

At our camping area in the Sierra (near Donner summit) there was still good amounts of snow as of two days ago. The north facing slopes will still have snow for at least two to three more weeks.

They have to sell the non-informed on global warming before they can enact the energy tax.

I’m just south of Tucson. We’re running about a month late in weather - May’s weather was what I’d normally expect in April, and this Jun has been like a normal May.

These ‘scientists’ are lying with statistics, which is darn easy to do. After all, just what WAS the average temperature worldwide in May 1833, for example - to within 0.1 deg? Anyone who claims to know the answer is a fraud!

The only data I trust these days is what I can myself observe by looking at the localized (by zip code) Weather Channel site and checking the High / Low / Average High / Record High chart on the bottom right. During all of the first half of 2010 we have broken exactly 0 (none, nada, not one) high temperature record and the daily highs have been usually 5 to 15 degrees below the average.

They would I'm sure explain that can happen due to some sort of localized phenomenon. But due to the nature of my work I travel a lot and am in touch with people around the world. Nobody is noticing unusually hot weather. NOBODY. So there's only one place I can think of where these bozos get their data and that is straight out of their collective (pun intended) a**es.

We were still getting rain, snow in the hills and highs in the 60’s until late into May - and the average temperature for that month is in the 80’s around here. So I’m not sure where they are getting their data from - the tarmac of the airports?

It is not the warmest. It is simply a lie. The whole Climategate scandal shows how they specifically are not taking the temperatures from dozens of areas in the specific attempt to alter the record. It is a scam and we know it.

They must be getting their temperature records from the thermometer in Al Gore’s bedsheets at the “No-Tel Mo-Tel”.
