Hackers must be behind Senate candidate Alvin Greene's victory in the South Carolina Democratic primary last week, Rep. James Clyburn claimed in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday.
Trying to account for how a candidate who had no money and no campaign infrastructure was able to pull out a victory over a well-funded local lawmaker in a statewide race, the powerful South Carolina Democrat said the touch-screen voting machines used by the state are notoriously unreliable. Without citing evidence, Clyburn said the voting machines could have been compromised.
"I believe there was some hacking done into that computer," Clyburn told Fox News, suggesting that somebody at the state could have deliberately bought those machines so that the system would be vulnerable. South Carolina uses a machine called the iVotronic.
"Maybe somebody wanted the machines that were easily hacked into ... We had no business with those machines in South Carolina," he said.
The State Election Commission rejected that theory on Tuesday. Chris Whitmire, spokesman for the commission, said the department has not detected even a hint of fraud or hacking in Tuesday's election and dismissed the charge that the system is not dependable.

There you go...he might not be a great speaker but he might have a good brain...he’s certainly more honorable then 95 per cent of other Democrats I’ve heard about. I’d at least shake his hand and thank him for his service to our country!
Of course if the porno charges bear out fruit, I’d hedge a little bit!
They will BLAME anything but themselves for not even checking into this guy BEFORE the primary, just like they didn’t look into the POTUS candidate in ‘08.
He's a Democrat. Duh!
Several theories have emerged for how Greene was able to pull out the victory, including speculation that Greene's position at the top of the ballot helped him win votes.
I'd suggest that his name helped. Don't beleive it? Ask any advertising exec what sells these days.
Clyburn couldn’t score over 600 on the SAT.
He probably can’t even spell his own name.
There may have been some use of magic powder.. of course, they are liberals!
One other message the Dem’s may be getting from this is that the Blacks may be getting ready to ‘vote their own” as opposed to staying with the Dem’s “official” certified candidates. Hispanic illegal aliens are being pandered to, while American blacks are losing jobs to them. Don’t think that the blacks aren’t noticing; I hear them talking about it a lot!
White Dem’s may discover that they are about to be disenfranchised from their own party as minority populations rise in this country and the minorities increasingly vote their own! The white rich liberal Dem’s may have reaped the whirlwind as they find themselves flushed out of their own power structures by minorities over the next 20 years or so!
You go tell Rafael, that I ain’t taking no jive from some western union messenger!
Then he told me to get my ass outta here or he’d cut it!
he doesnt have Iraqi campain medal, Afganistan campain medal..or global war on terrorism expeditionary medal..SOOOO? They didn’t send him. I know of three Green Berets from 1969 to 1972 who spent their time at Bad Tolz (?) in Germany. Didn’t get sent to VN, because they weren’t needed.
They say that minorities are supposed to be about 50 percent and whites about 50 percent by the 20’s or so. The white liberal Dems may start to discover that they are becoming victims or their own race baiting successes as they are flushed out of their own Democratic power positions by the new up and coming hispanics, Asians, and blacks who are just ‘voting their own’. What’s a white liberal Dem to do when they discover that the minorities hate them just as much as those “evil whitey conservatives”?
RE: ..SOOOO? They didnt send him
Alvin Greene served his country honorably. That’s good enough for me. That’s miles better than one draft dodger I know who became President in the 90’s.
As for electing Greene to the Senate ... well that’s another matter altogether. What does he stand for ?
That is the ALL IMPORTANT question Democrats NEVER ask.
This has always by Clyburn's s.o.p..
Operation Chaos is on auto-pilot and the dems are scrambling for parachutes .
In a fair and just world, Clyburn would be the one coming in after hours and cleaning the toilets.
Only to lose his job to somebody names Jesus.
When a black voter votes for a black candidate just because he’s black, does that constitute racism? Maybe it does, but none dare call it racism.
Entirely true, I suspect. If the average person can raise $10,440 to buy a used car, as he can, I don't see why it would be that hard for a single man, recently discharged from the service who lives at home with his father, to have that much money to spend on a vanity political campaign, if he wanted to.
We agree.
