One of the daughters of former President George W. Bush isn't following the Republican Party line when it comes to the issue of the health care legislation that cleared Congress last spring without any GOP support.
In an interview on Fox News Sunday, Barbara Bush said she's "glad" Democrats passed the massive spending measure and President Barack Obama signed it into law.
"Why do, basically, people with money have good health care and why do people who live on lower salaries not have good health care?" the 28-year old said.
"Health should be a right for everyone." Asked specifically what she though about the president's health care initiative, Bush replied with a smile, "That is a good question - obviously the health care reform bill was highly debated by a lot of people and I guess I'm glad the bill was passed."

His liberal wife was teaching them her liberal ideals, methinks.
we raise them to THINK about things and what the two sides of an issue are and why we think the way we do. i am sorry, i used to be a liberal until i was taught how to think. my husband and i are both lawyers, and we live in northern VA. they go to private schools in DC. we live in a highly politicized environment, my husband used to work on the Hill. they cut their teeth on political discussions in our house. even my husband and i don’t see eye to eye on everything, though we are both conservatives. and on some things my kids are MORE conservative than i am.
maybe your son is just needling you with the contrarian stand, but i honestly believe that if you discuss issues and political philosophy in depth, the odds are that the kids will learn to THINK like a conservative, and not just be a brainwashed sponge. My oldest attends the U of Dallas, a private Catholic conservative university. she loves finally being around like-minded students and professors. My son will be attending Syracuse university in the fall, in their Information Sciences school. My husband is an alum, so we know what a leftwing bastion it is, and i am not concerned that my son will go to the dark side, because his HS was Jesuit and had plenty of leftists, he can handle it.
The WOT and the pro-life issue show way more than 5 degrees between Bush and Obama.
I think Bush got his wife to agree not to voice her opinions while he was in office because she differed with him a lot. But she kept quiet which is commendable. The girls picked up much of their mother's ideas.
they are still around FR. doubt your gonna see any on this thread tho. This bush daughters obvious zeal for the Clown in Chief is indefensible. Booshes are elite liberal rahmballs. they do ALL stink.
Like father and mother, like daughters, sots.
She’s as dumb as her dad.
Just like children of privilege who wear a Che t-shirt. They have no idea that Che would have put a bullet right between their eyes and walked away without thinking twice, just because they were part of the privileged class.
I think that's some of the reason why GWB's daughter and Megan McCain say and think the things they do.
They've had everything just handed to them for so long that they think everything is effortless, and doesn't require a second thought.
I think they would struggle pretty hard and have different views if their money and notoriety were stripped away.
Realizing she isn’t getting any younger, perhaps she’s trying to attrack a husband regardless of political affiliation.
"I don't know Barb... Why do people with money have great cars and people who live on lower salaries drive old clunkers? Maybe it's dependent on what you can afford and negotiate for yourself and family. Maybe it's also an incentive to study, work hard, do more to succeed in the world versus spending days on a stoop or working at the Drive Thru. Do the world a favor: don't think. Just stand there and look 'pretty'."
God Bless George Bush.
Enjoy your retirement Mr. President. It is well deserved.
Now shut your ***ned family the h*** up.
She is her parent’s daughter...Laura, for all her pluses, is a lib...and W is a child-of-privilege “Compassionate Conservative” all et up with Noblesse Oblige.
True statement. Libs have no respect for money...probably because they've never had to worry about it.
That was her Sister, Jenna, at The University of Texas.
She went to Yale, works at a non-profit in NYC and she’s shopping for a million-dollar apartment in the Village. This is not surprising.
We get them from from Maine - like Snow, Collins etc.
Somehow the Bushies convinced a lot of people that they're southern conservatives, when in fact they're a bunch of northeastern blue-blood liberals.
I would be more impressed if one of the Bush daughters had served in the military.
Other than the circumstances of their birth, they would have no place in public policy based on any credentials of intelligence, experience, or common sense.
Then again, where would W be if he hadn’t had a father who was a president and a lifelong political creature?
We need a constitutional amendment forbidding any descendant down to the fourth generation of any political figure from running for any office.
Office holders need to come from the real world, not the elitist, sheltered world of political families.
Young and dumb. Nuff said.
Pretty young woman. Maybe she will wise up as she gets older.
