The SCM is doing it’s best to shove that soccer crap down our throats. ESPN is all over this junk.
I’m not buying. Don’t care for the game, and haven’t met anyone that likes that game that I like!

it's the perfect sport for mealy-mouthed, leftist democracies in decline, and banana republics, too.
That's what they know.
Hence it's increasing popularity in the US.

Nothing, but we now know you have very questionable taste in cuisine. I like leftsa, but no lutefisk for me.

the reason that soccer has not arrived (and may never rise) to the first tier of professional sports in America is tradition and timing.

"it's the perfect sport for mealy-mouthed, leftist democracies in decline, and banana republics, too." Having played soccer competitively from age 6 to 22, I will openly admit that while it's one of the most intense, demanding games to play, it's also one of the very dullest to watch.

Any sport, where the final score is routinely 0 - 0, is a huge waste of time.

American kids play soccer until they’re too old for their parents to make ‘em play soccer - then they switch to REAL sports....

Soccer sucks. That’s all.

Just too darned boring for me. The only time I like FIFA is on my Playstation where I can score something like 37 goals.
I also can’t stand ties. Can’t they swap penalty kicks a few times or something?
To: AJKauf
Is it perhaps because soccer is so boring the announcer has to make anything even remotely exciting last for 5 mminuteS?
"Beckham moves down the center. He breaks away. Takes the shot.

I enjoyed playing soccer as a child, but to sit down and watch a game these days would be equivalent to a root canal.

Simple really!
The rest of the world doesn't have American football, basketball, and baseball, so they focus much of their love of organized sport into soccer.
Actually, it's growing rapidly in the U.S. as well, particularly in schools and colleges.
