Mystery SC Candidate's Bizarre Keith Olbermann Interview
What the hell? At this point, it's the only reaction we can have to Alvin Greene, the unemployed veteran who beat out a much more-qualified opponent in the South Carolina Democratic Senate primary. Watch his halting Countdown interview for yourself.
It wasn't much different than other interviews he's given on television and in print. These are all marked by a frustrating vagueness about every aspect of his almost non-existent campaign. Tonight he told Olbermann his campaigning consisted of door-to-door canvassing and a couple of "informal meetings." When Olbermann asked how, given his lack of a website and fundraising, anyone in the state knew enough to vote for him, he said: "I think they heard of my name when I was campaigning across the state to pass the word on. Just by word of mouth. I got the word out, you know."
Many people are concerned he's a Republican plant, meant to derail any Democratic challenge to Republican Jim DeMint. Which is strange logic: If the Dems' favored candidate couldn't even beat some random dude, how was he supposed to beat a popular incumbent? When asked about SC Congressman James Clyburn's call for an investigation into whether his was a puppet campaign, Greene told Olbermann, "I've always been a Democrat and I always will be a Democrat and support Democrats." But throughout the interview he paused at great length after each question, apparently being fed answers by someone offscreen. (Olbermann later said it was his lawyer, according to Mediaite.) And he refused to comment on his sexy felony charge.
On the surface, there seems to be literally nothing to Alvin Greene the Democratic Senate candidate. Every interview and profile has so far only deepened this nothingness, begging us to fill it in with our own conspiracy theorieshe's a plant! Someone's tricking him! Watching his performance on Olbermann, lobbing almost perfect non-answers at Olbermann's hard-hitting questions, you can't help but wonder if maybe Alvin Greene really is just some random dude.
There may be others. Be sure to issue warnings before linking us kids to sites like DU. If you pollute my mind by sending me there unawares, my parents will sue you.
Just don't click on my links and we're pretty square.
I’ve seen enough of those episodes to be FREAKED OUT about everything else. Will they check my legal status at the DMV?
Clearly someone's grooming him to run for President.
This guy will be in good company. He can go visit Hank Johnson from Georgia.
The comments on DU are FUNNY, acting like this dope is gonna win.
Something went on to get this guy on the ballot, I hope the dirt does not end up on demint.
I hear that Rahm Emanuel has offered Mr. Greene the Director of Internal Pornography position at the SEC or the MMS job at Energy if he drops out of the race. Just a rumor so far, so keep it under your hat, okay?
My guess - you didn't see the Olberdork interview. This idiot may have trouble paying the water bill.
The guy got about 100k votes and Clyburn got 50K in the 6th district alone (I'll wager that everyone that voted for Clyburn voted for Alvin. Hummm, maybe Jim was getting worried and thought he needed an additional draw on the ballot. I dont know why, as he got 90% of the vote in the primary, but dont put it past this guy to throw the entire party under the bus to insure a victory in November ( I also noticed he might have a serious opponent for the General). If this guy stays in to the general in November you can bet Clyburn is really behind this move IMHO.
BTW Clyburn is from Sumter, SC which is very close to Manning, SC which is where Alvin Greene is from. Just seem curious to me.

THANK YOU!
Hold that thought - and PLEASE bring it up in 2012 - eh?
Greene only lost 3 counties - Lancaster, Jasper and Charleston.
His lowest percentage was in Charleston county with 46% of the vote (still picking up 5440 votes there).
He did very well in the "black belt" of rural South Carolina which comprises Clyburn's C.D. 6, a place that would be difficult to do a lot of Republican planting.
Clarendon - 68% (2015)
Colleton - 62% (1204)
Bamberg - 70% (1007)
Marion - 65% (1446)
Williamsburg - 65% (3367)
Counties which are at least partially in CD 6:
Berkeley - 67% (2651)
Calhoun - 69% (642)
Charleston - 46% (5440)
Dorchester - 59% (1905)
Florence - 67% (4047)
Georgetown - 65% (1980)
Lee - 62% (2285)
Orangeburg - 52% (4106)
Richland - 54% (13758)
Sumter - 71% (4321)
So from the counties which comprise Clyburn's district, Greene got 50,174 votes, or half his votes.
Clyburn, completely coincidentally, got 49937 (granted, some of those counties are not completely in Clyburn's district).
Never in a million years did I think I’d see pedobear posted here
No, but I saw the Fox interview. I’ll give him credit for one decent answer to a question. Shep was asking him why he kept giving the same answers in every interview, and he responded that it’s because he keeps getting asked the same questions. Apart from that one, he sounds completely clueless.
I believe only about 170,000 votes were cast in the Democratic primary while over 400,000 votes were cast on the Republican side for SC.
A true RAT giant!
I thought “A Simple Plan” was an awesome movie! They guy may have been a dud but the movie was great.
rent it.
I watched this yesterday evening on TV.
Was utterly amazed, but not surprised, by what I saw.
Clyburn is playing the “Republican set this up” card b/c this guy is such an embarrassment.
Democratic Senate Candidate Alvin Greene in the (cough) flesh.
