Prince Charles yesterday urged the world to follow Islamic 'spiritual principles' in order to protect the environment.
In an hour-long speech, the heir to the throne argued that man's destruction of the world was contrary to the scriptures of all religions - but particularly those of Islam.
He said the current 'division' between man and nature had been caused not just by industrialisation, but also by our attitude to the environment - which goes against the grain of 'sacred traditions'.
Charles, who is a practising Christian and will become the head of the Church of England when he succeeds to the throne, spoke in depth about his own study of the Koran which, he said, tells its followers that there is 'no separation between man and nature' and says we must always live within our environment's limits.
The prince was speaking to an audience of scholars at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies - which attempts to encourage a better understanding of the culture and civilisation of the religion.
His speech, merging religion with his other favourite subject, the environment, marked the 25th anniversary of the organisation, of which he is patron.
He added: 'The inconvenient truth is that we share this planet with the rest of creation for a very good reason - and that is, we cannot exist on our own without the intricately balanced web of life around us.
'Islam has always taught this and to ignore that lesson is to default on our contract with creation.'

He’s actually correct.
Islam leads to a lot of people getting killed. That does reduce the need for landfill space and lowers the pressure on fisheries.
The people of the UK are soo screwed.
That also helps with Global Warming!
Better to give the throne to Prince Harry.
He at least knows how to spot a terrorist ...

Kinda makes one wonder if Queen Elizabeth, before she retires for bed each night, prays as such...
“Oh, Dear Lord, please let me live ONE MORE day so that my idiot son doesn’t take the throne.”
WTF is wrong with this blithering idiot?
Add to that the fact that the overwhelming majority of ME people live in towns or other urban centers, I really think you have to re-read the parts of the Koran that you think discuss the links between humans and nature.
In the ME there is no nature without man!
Oh, good God, Charles! Lay off the bloody beans! You'll kill us all!
Lets see...outhouses, camels and clitoral circumcision. Yup! That'll do it jes' fime.
Don't look now, but so are we.....barring divine intervention this November.
Really, that moron is the spitting image of his GGUncle the Kaiser isn’t he.
The royals are still practicing inbreeding, I see.
You are exactly right. If he was a true believer in The Lord Jesus Christ, he would have taken the opportunity to speak to muslims to explain clearly to them why there is no salvation from any name on earth other than the name of God the Son, and at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, including every muslim knee. And he would have explained to them how to begin believing in The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob through His Son Jesus Christ.... but he didn't... so he isn't.
Islamists flying a British Airways jet into Buckingham Palace would be a good start. Maybe Charles would like to be aboard the flight?
What an embarrassment this guy is. Actually, if he were just a run-of-the-mill Brit (or even a minor noble), he would only be an embarrassment. Since he is one heartbeat away from the British Throne, he is a national disgrace.
Except on their flags?
I agree with you. There are no serious environmental movements in Muslim countries.
I wonder if the Prince is spouting this in hopes of become a King / Caliph of England.
And if the Queen could bar this fool and go for the grandson willing to serve in the military.
