Since the Middle East is essentially dry country and most agriculture there depends on irrigation (which led to some of Earth's earliest and most totalitarian "hydraulic kingdoms") there's little contact between human beings and true wilderness ~ all the plants are planted and tended by humans.
Add to that the fact that the overwhelming majority of ME people live in towns or other urban centers, I really think you have to re-read the parts of the Koran that you think discuss the links between humans and nature.
In the ME there is no nature without man!
