The month of June in 2005 started out with President Bush welcoming President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa, to the Oval Office of the White House On June 1st, to President Bush discussing the G8 Summit progress in Africa on June 30th
The quote of the month is from the Address, President Bush gave at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on June 28, 2009 Link
Great article, thanks for the link! ;)
I thought I’d like to give you the heads up:
Following her mother’s footsteps, Barbara Bush the younger will appear on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace tomorrow presumably to talk about her Global Health Corps organization. The other guests are Carly Fiorina, the California Republican senatorial candidate hoping to replace the god-awful Barbara Boxer and Susan Rice, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
So if you’re interested, make sure to tune in tomorrow or DVR it. I certainly will, should be interesting. I believe this will be the first time Barbara has ever appeared on a Sunday political chat show.

WOW . . . thank you for posting these amazing videos of our W in the early days!
Thanks for the heads up...we can always do with a good dose of the Bushes...good for what ails us under the current administration....
I wonder if we are seeing more of them because they know the American people are dispondent with the state of affairs? Remember when Bush went to Fort Hood to visit the soldiers while obam waited til he had the stage set?... That’s our Dubya....he just knew what to do and got at it.
I absolutely love that he is the same man then as he is now...er, except for the grey hair.
I’m wondering if these videos are popping up because the archivists are digging up all this for his presidential library.
Thanks! I will make sure to watch in the morning, because I will be gone all afternoon.
This is the extra bit that Chris Wallace mentions at the end of the video above: Power Player Plus: Barbara Bush
Where are the pic’s like this of Zero and the First Horse’s Ass?????
First a picture:
As Luvya said, too bad they didn't take this from a different angle!
This video is from the Today show. Jenna interviews Laura about her book. It is sooo sweet! During a good portion of the interview Laura, Barbara, and Jenna are the ranch talking. Really a great find, Luvya!
I normaly don’t watch the Today show, but thanks for finding the video and sharing it with us
These are incredibly fantastic GEMS! Thanks for posting
them ... WATCH EVERY ONE!
It’s wonderful to see him from over 20 yrs ago, and
note the same principles, sensibilities, and values
that remain today. His unabashed respect and love
his Dad and family stand out loud and clear.
We were so blessed.

another thing missing from this admin that GWB felt so strongly..
” “As a champion of the free enterprise system in Congress, Chris Cox knows that a free economy is built on trust.” “
I found this great blog post written by a rabbi who conducted the wedding ceremony of President Bush’s current spokesman David Sherzer and his new wife Amanda Aulds, who works for the Barbara Bush foundation. GWB, Laura, his father George H.W. and mother Barbara were there at the wedding last month in Dallas.
I love how this rabbi described Bush as a “mensch (yiddish word for good person), and a very genuine and down to earth fellow.” So true!
“Hail to the Chiefs: How I Officiated at a Wedding in the Presence of Two Presidents”

The additional info bit about the wedding:

That’s a great link in your post # 112. Thank you.
THANKS, ENJOYED THAT!
Excellent!! Thank you!
Thank you. I was not expecting a response and yours was much appreciated.
Update on President Bush:
“ALAN PEPPARD ON SALVATION ARMY FETE, MELISSA RYCROFT, JOSH ALAN FRIEDMAN”
12:00 AM CDT on Friday, June 11, 2010
Last week in Dallas, George W. Bush had a closed-door meeting with a top general. But this commander was the Belfast-born General Shaw Clifton, world leader of the Salvation Army.
Billionaire philanthropists Dee and Charles Wyly hosted a black-tie dinner for Clifton and about 60 guests at their Preston Hollow estate.
Before the meal, Clifton and his wife, Helen, world president of the Salvation Army’s Women’s Ministries, met privately with Bush, his wife, Laura, as well as the Wylys.
Based in London, Clifton came to Texas to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Salvation Army Mabee Social Services Center in Fort Worth. During a touching ribbon-cutting ceremony, he cut a paper chain with links that had the words “homelessness” and “hunger” printed on them.
In addition to the Bushes, he dined chez Wyly with Madeleine and T. Boone Pickens, Cheryl and Sam Wyly
(brother of Charles), Margot and Ross Perot, JoAnne and Tony Roosevelt (grandson of FDR), Ruth and Ken Altshuler, as well as Mayor Tom Leppert and his wife, Laura.
Another Laura Bush interview from today this time on Fox News Radio with host Brian Kilmeade on “Kilmeade and Friends”:
