Senior White House Press Corps member Helen Thomas’s not very subtle endorsement of Hitler’s “Final Solution” of the “Jewish Problem” has finally earned her the opprobrium she has in every respect worked hard to deserve for many years. Like the Gaza flotilla radio operator who advised his Israeli interlocutors to “go back to Auschwitz”, her wish to see Israeli Jews go back to Germany and Poland wasn’t a plug for European tourism. Under Hitler Germany fomented the mid-twentieth century attempt to wipe out Europe’s Jewish population. The resulting toll of murdered Jews was highest in Poland.
Despite Thomas’s apology, “her reputation seems beyond repair amid the abounding calls for her resignation.” Not so the reputations of others, in the media and elsewhere, who are blithely ignoring the facts in order to cast Israel as the villain in the drama being staged to delegitimize the Jewish state. No apology is demanded when Pat Buchanan falsely asserts that Israel is “denying 1.5 million people what they need to live in decency.” Ron Paul or Arianna Huffington can casually repeat the lie that Israel is stopping food, medicine and other humanitarian supplies from reaching Gaza (causing what Huffington claimed to be a humanitarian disaster), with no apology required.
Follow Thomas’s advice and you send Israeli Jews (including those from the Middle East?) to Germany and Poland, destroying the Jewish state. Accept the anti-Israel propagandist’s repulsive caricature of Israel as the perpetrator of a deeply immoral holocaust of deprivation and starvation, and you set up Israeli Jews to be slaughtered (by Hamas’s rockets, or eventually an Iranian nuclear device?) where they are. Either way, Hitler’s “Final Solution” finally comes to pass.

Uh...Mahmoud Abbas is not affiliated with Hamas but with Fatah. Helen Thomas didn’t say anything about killing Jews, just sending them back to Germany and Poland, both of which are presently democracies. But other than that, nice photo collage.

So you’re saying that if any Jews moved to Germany or Poland right now, they’d face a pogrom? Or would they face this pogrom only if they returned en masse? I loath Helen Thomas, and believe what she said is only the tip of the iceberg for this hideous sack of hate and mendacity. But let’s stay factual.

How’s this for a difference: Hamas has been taking Fatah sympathizers and throwing them out of 15th-story windows, and massacring them in their mosques. Mahmoud Abbas has been able to suspend all elections indefinitely and continue to run his inept kleptocracy with the full blessings of the EU and the UN, because they’re afraid that Hamas would win any Pali election. And the fact that while Mahmoud Abbas is one vile little pouch of puss, he never made the statement attributed to him in your photo, although he does deny the Holocaust ever happened, and would be only too happy to see to it that it recurred.
Once you start getting sloppy on your facts, you start morphing into a bizarro-world clone of all we despise. Don’t do it. That’s all I’m saying.
