You probably would not believe this if you did not hear it for yourself.
On June 4th, Democrat Florida Congressmen Alan Grayson suggested tracking down every single person who has said Drill Baby Drill and putting them all in prison with Michael Steele on the Stephanie Miller radio show:
Congressman Grayson may not actually believe in carrying out his idiotic comments literally. However, you have got to look back at when our federal government actually imprisoned thousands of AMERICAN CITIZENS during WWI and WWII because of their race or because they spoke out against the government. Where is the media hate speech crowd?
If they lock up all of us, who will pay the taxes?
(Apparentely the bold messed up the layout.)
My reference to tea partiers is specifically mirroring what the government CAN DO if we ALLOW them to choose when and who to REMOVE constitutionally protected rights.
Germans were thrown in jail or camps. Over 2000 in WWI and over 11,000 in WWII (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_American_internment). And just to add, Italians were as well during WWII (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_American_internment)
Yes, in regards to possessions taken I am referring to those interned. Liberty and Tyranny cannot co-exist is liberal BS? Seriously? I am curious as to how you intend to argue that. I am reminded of a quote by Abraham Lincoln:
We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word many mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name - liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names - liberty and tyranny. (Emphasis added)
If you can show me where in the Constitution that the federal government is allowed to suspend American rights without due process, I will entertain this more. Otherwise I am done.
We agree on some points.
“Liberty and Tyranny cannot co-exist is liberal BS? Seriously?”
Taken out of context. You should have included the following sentence, which clearly does not suggest that liberty and tyranny can coexist.
