Israel will do "whatever it takes" to defend itself from terrorism, the Israeli ambassador to the U.S. said Sunday, without elaborating what actions would be taken in the face of a potential Iranian Revolutionary Guard escort of ships to break through the blockade of Gaza.
Ambassador Michael Oren said Israel is "open to any ideas to somehow deal with the Gaza situation" but dropping the blockade is unlikely since that would mean allowing thousands of rockets to arrive in Hamas-controlled Gaza.
If Iran sends its elite military unit to escort any other ships -- as it has suggested it would -- "Israel will also do whatever it takes to defend itself from Hamas terror," Oren told "Fox News Sunday."
"Israel will do what it has to do to defend 7.5 million Israelis," he said.

If Iran is allowed to develop nuclear weapons, the Saudi’s will do the same. As will Syria, Egypt, etc. All hell will break loose at that point. Israel has about 150 nukes. Iran has 1-10, in the future. It won’t take many to wipe out Israel, but if they do, Israel will launch what they have to to wipe out Iran. It would be a blood bath, but the Iranian leadership won’t care.

Ummmm.... yeah! Any country which acts in any way to actively break through a country's defenses, to allow penetration of the control of the borders that they have -- is asking for a war. That's what it amounts to.
If you were to have any country act in such a way as to give military support to forcefully break through a country's defenses of their borders -- that's something that no country would tolerate without a vigirous and strong military response.

Israel has the Samson option on the table for that kind of thing ... they would "wipe out" the entire Muslim Middle East with that one ... hoo-boy!

The long range question for Israel’s survival is the one posed by Rumsfeld about Iraq - are we creating more terrorists than we are destroying?

Israel needs to ‘mistakenly’ leak a few targets, the Iranian version of Wash DC needs to be the first. Then, the leadership will care.
If Israel faces annihilation, Israel shouldn’t stop at taking out Iran. They should take out Syria, Saudi Arabia (and all it’s “holy” cities),Yemen, and any other muslim crap hole that supports the ongoing terrorism affecting the Western world. The only thing the islamists understand is raw force; history has shown that repeatedly over the past 1,400 years. If they want to play with fire, then the West needs to give it back in spades. As for their hiding behind women and children; well we’ve become too civilized in the past 60 years. How many women and children did the Allies kill in bombing raids during WWII in order to defeat the Nazis and Japanese? Hundreds of thousands I’m sure. When it comes to survival, collateral damage, albeit kept to a minimum, is unavoidable, especially with a cowardly enemy like the islamists. Somehow I believe Israel would survive, they have a special relationship with God historically.
And I will support it for doing so.

But why wait until "much of the country is destroyed"?
If Iran gets just a handful of nukes, that will be the time, before they can use them. It would be the time for a "counter force" strike, not a city busting "counter value" strike . That is the sort ImaNutJob, and the Mad Mullahs, would/will order if and when they have the ability.
