Former presidential candidate McCain battling for his political life against GOP conservative

A serious re-election fight wasn't what Republican John McCain expected when he returned to the Senate after losing the presidency.

But the four-term senator is battling for his political life in a race that embodies the volatility of an unpredictable election year. He's facing former Rep. J.D. Hayworth, a fellow Republican pushing him farther to the right as GOP voters demand conservative purity in their candidates and punish those with ties to the Washington establishment.

Two longtime Senate incumbents have fallen —

Its obvious McCain is in trouble....even the Liberal media knows that. A McCain win is needed to preserve a liberal Senate seat.

The internal polling is not good for McCain....obviously.

Anyone supporting AZ SB 1070 and votes for McCain....you can kiss 1070 goodbye. McCain will work to pass Illegal Alien Amnesty and kill that law

And, yes, Hayworth will win the primary. McCain’s money, and RINO endorsements from Palin, Romney, etc....still cannot give McCain a commanding lead

Apparently the fight is not fierce enough just yet. J.D. Hayworth is still standing and still very much a contender.

Do I wish McCain ill? Not in the least, but I do wish him a good retirement, and the distinguished title of “emeritus”.

Perhaps he could become some sort of ambassador for the otherwise now failing obama regime, in an attempt to rehabilitate them. (Do I HAVE to put on the < sarc > tag?)

The people of Arizona don't like being lied to. They are angry about lip sevice not being followed up with concrete action.

Go J.D. Hayworth

McCain likely to win?

I’m not so sure. The sentiment around here is very much, “Get him the hell out!”.

Here’s hoping you are correct;Republicans who go along with the socialist agenda are worse than useless.

Dollars translate into votes, not always on a one-to-one basis. And so far as known, they may be spent across state lines. Just be honest and upfront about whom you support, and why, applauding “your guy” with cash.

“If Hayworth wins, can he win the general election?”

Be careful. We’ve spent years working on that premise. I.E., vote for who we think can win rather than who we think is the best candidate.

That gets us RINOs and “the person who sucks the least”.

McCain is a Democrat. He has covered for Obama on everything including this McCain resolution that McCain was eligble which meant they all knew O wasn’t.

McCain-Feingold gave us the 2006/2008 Dem Congress plus Obama. Seniors and baby boomers are truly screwed because of McCain’s action on borders and Obama. Ilegals will get all the seniors benefits.

Weeks ago, I talked about McCain being threatened by Hayworth on my blog, and the McCainiacs jumped all over me for it.

Seems I was right after all.

His later “service” to this country is McCain Feingold which gave the Dems power in 2006/2008 and Obama 2008. You may have lost your country due to McCains’s “service.”

He is one of the worst Democrat moles hiding in the GOP. McCain has caused GREAT damage to America.

Ever wonder why the Dems never run anyone against RINOs like this?

During election hell month, we were driving to Phoenix to join the protests of Albore trying to steal the election. JD, as a Congressman, brought his boys to join in on two occasions that I can remember.

I liked him even then, and asked him point-blank if he’d ever considered running for Senate.

He smiled at me and looked at the sky and responded, “We have two good Rebublicans in there, so no.”

Guess we don’t have two good Republicans any more? I’ve gotta send him some more money...

I'm not sure there is a dem candidate entering this race. I think there was someone from Tucson considering it but don't know if he is actually running

Don't forget yesterday's big news:

NRA ENDORSES MCCAIN!

I'm still reeling from that announcement.

Time for him to retire he is worthless like his former butt buddy, Ted “Shumaoo OldsMoSub Commander” Kennedy. In my opinion, Mcblame is mentally unstable to hold any position of trust in our government. I hope the people of Arizonia elect J.D., who will lead the charge of sanity for America once again.
