The first new razor from Procter & Gamble’s Gillette division in four years - the Fusion ProGlide - hits U.S. store shelves today.

For two months, the company has been teasing the release with a TV ad campaign that shows the evolution of its razors and today’s date and said, “See what’s next.”

The Fusion ProGlide will be Gillette’s top-of-the-line razor for men with the battery-operated power model retailing for $12.99 and replacement blades going for a 15 percent premium over the current cost for Fusion blades.

I should have added that when using the stone, you really have to watch the angle and keep it constant. A lot of people ruin there blades because they change there angles during sharpening. It's kind of an art.

If you know any avid hunters, you might want to watch them sharpen their knives. Same principle.

electric razors rule.

No creams or soaps. You can do it one handed while driving.

I use bar soap instead of shaving cream.

Be nice and clean, shave every day and you'll always look keen.

I remember hearing that song as a kid, but it took me a few years to understand the “joke” of the song.

I dont use any soap or cream. I shave in the shower and stick my face in the hot water stream and shave. The hot water lifts my beard and im done. Don’t use a mirror, all be feel. Works perfectly fine.

I preferred the old wilkerson sword single edge blades ( two sides) and the twist the bottom razors to open it’s top to change blades. Add the brush and the shaving mug that you made lather with.

Damn it was not that difficult.Would love to find the blades.

No shaving creme. No water. Dry shave. That is the way a true conservative shaves! What are we doing talking about razor blades and shaving on FR? Oh, OK, it’s Saturday night.

They have to make all the money they can so they can pay for the lawsuits when the battery operated razor decides to shave on its own.

Dry Shave. LMAO. Many have done it. You just do not take a razor on a combat OP.

I am in Warsaw right now and the TESCO down the street sells them for about $2.00 a pack. I bought a bunch when I was here last year and still have blades left.

Really, razor blades? If your knife isn’t sharp enough to dry shave with, you shouldn’t even call yourself a man.

Think I'll just get the Quintippio 15 blade razor. That'll give me the closest shave ever!

Would love to find the blades.

Check out Amazon, they sell the Wilkinson brand double-edge blades. That's now a Schick product, though... for blades manufactured on Wilkinson's old equipment, have a look a razorandbrush.com. They have the biggest selection of double-edge blades I've seen.

I have found that if you store your razor in a glass jar filled with high octane rubbing alcohol, with enough in it so the blades are submerged, the blades will stay sharp for much longer and it also will sterilize the razor. Needless to say any other high octane alcohol will work just as well, but I much rather drink it than waste it. I have no idea how come it works, but it sure does as it allows me to shave with the same razor for several weeks.
