Israel is not to blame for people starving. They send in aid... but the aid does not get to the people. and the muslims are laughing at how clever they are in pulling off their con game and getting the corrupt world’s sympathy. Shame on them!! They act like wild animals..

Un-believeable...I guess the Pope needs to fulfill HIS part of the prophecy... (EVERYone will turn against Israel)

Yo, Pope...there are a few of us "little people" that are stronger than you, evidently; because WE'RE with Israel!!!

As much as I respect the Pope, he needs to sit this one out and let the people of the world handle it.

Dear Pope, please BUTT OUT! If Israel was full of Catholics Hamas would be trying to kill them, just as joyfully!

When you let Hamas launch attacks from your neighborhood, exactly what is it you expect to happen in return?

Hamas gets a free pass from the world to launch whatever it likes from Gaza but any attempt at controlling it on Israel's part and it is a crime against the world...

The world is upside down.

Pope Benedict XVI, during his visit to Bethlehem on Wednesday, specifically mentioned the plight of Gazans, telling them: “Please be assured of my solidarity with you in the immense work of rebuilding which now lies ahead and my prayers that the embargo will soon be lifted.”

Someone please tell me that the Pope did not just side with terrorists.

I'm sorry, but between his "Hitler Youth" past, his role in the child molestation scandal and this latest crap with his support of the Gaza terrorists, this guy need to be impeached.

This is from a year ago, when the blockade still had restrictions on food shipments. It’s a tiny bit misleading to imply that this is something that came out post-Mavi Marmara.

Park a few million Catholic-hating Muslims next door to Pope’s place...he might change his irrelevant tune...magritte

Why is this in News?

This article is a year old and it misleads one into thinking that the Pope is speaking of the recent blockade running incident.

This is a bit slanderous, isnt it?

NO ONE IS STARVING! THERE IS NO CRISIS! Even the Pope is suckered into the lies of CNN, Reuters and Al Jazeera?

Here is the main market in Gaza City, as photographed by a leftist Danish journalist in May, who was amazed that his own eyes refuted what the propaganda insisted....does it look "depleted"? Do they seem to be "denied basic necessities"?

I see the German pope wants Israelis and Palestinians killed in a war, he supports by calling for rocket importation into Gaza.

Either that, or pathetic Dhimmitude.

Remember that the Pope was a Nazi (socialist) in his youth. Antisemitism is at the forefront of nazi and socialist ideology. The Jews and true Chrisitans need to speak out against this guy since he's doing exactly what the terror flotilla "peace activists" aimed to do: de-legitimize Israel and Israel's security.

Socialist Antisemitism and Anti-zionism

The Vatican is a walled city and keep out all undesirables and weapons. Israel wants to keep weapons such as rockets and missiles, RPGs out of Gaza. Make it a gun free zone which liberals are supposed to like I thought.

The blockade wasn’t on the forefront before the pope talked about it? Really.

Pope is in the WRONG SIDE of this. Pope needs to read The Holy Bible and understand what the sons of Ishmael and Esau are trying to to do Israel. Pope needs to fully grasp in his mind who's Blood Covenant still stands with Israel and what nations and it's people shall turn against her and what will happen when they do. Would the Pope have had sympathies for The Nazi's killing Jews as well and what Jews who could at that be time fighting back in self defense? Israel is at war with a real enemy within it's own borders. It amazes me how many ENABLERS Israel's enemies have. Especially ones who should know better.

which prevents all but the most basic supplies from entering Gaza

This is contradicted by other information that says all but war materiel gets into Gaza and that there are no food shortages, medical shortages, etc.

There are missile shortages.
