Carly Fiorina's fatal weakness against Boxer
Chuck DeVore for U.S. Senate ^ | 5 June 2010

Posted on 06/05/2010 2:29:32 PM PDT by CounterCounterCulture

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Chuck DeVore, candidate for the Republican nomination for United States Senate in California, issued this statement in response to Democratic attacks on Carly Fiorina over the past 48 hours:

"I called upon Carly Fiorina once to explain how she'll defend her profound vulnerabilities in a general election. I now repeat that call. Republicans deserve to know how she would make the fight against Boxer about something other than herself: because right now, she is failing to do that.

"Republicans in California have known structural disadvantages: the Democrats have more money, more registered voters, and more media support. We have only one natural advantage: if we're conservative, and if we're ethical, we're right. A Republican who wants to win in California must be both.

"The problem with Carly Fiorina is that her record is neither. That's why she is the weakest possible candidate to face Barbara Boxer in a general election. With her liberal record, her serial self-contradiction, and her brazen self-reinvention, she is the only one of the three Republican candidates for U.S. Senate who offers Boxer an opportunity to talk about something other than the issues.

"In the past few days, we have seen a preview of the Democratic strategy against Fiorina. In response to Fiorina's premature leap into the general election without having won the primary -- with her commercial attacking Boxer on climate change and national security -- Barbara Boxer and her allies have done exactly what we predicted. They pointed out that until last autumn, Fiorina and Boxer generally agreed on climate change, and they revived the electorally damaging story on Fiorina's circumvention of U.S. export restrictions to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"We thus see that a legitimate criticism of Barbara Boxer, when issued by Carly Fiorina, becomes a story about Carly Fiorina.

"If Carly Fiorina is our nominee, this will be the pattern of the entire general-election campaign.

"Fortunately, Carly Fiorina is not our nominee -- and she doesn't have to be. Election Day is Tuesday, and California's Republicans and conservatives can choose a candidate with an unblemished conservative record, who will make Barbara Boxer fight on the issues. I am that candidate."

The comments I’m getting in my cold calling Republicans for GOTV for DeVore is wonderful.

People who can’t believe I called.

People who can’t believe someone else in the neighborhood is conservative.

People who thank me for my efforts.

Fiorino has money and no heart, as do all Statist water carriers.

Don’t let the MFM and the Statists steal the TP like they stole the recall of Davis.

The Fiorino dishearteners are like their choice — no heart to fight the growth of government.

Go DeVore.
Keep the Tea Party revolt alive.
Vote DeVore!

I'll vote for a rhesus monkey before I vote for Boxer... - and they know this - this is why the GOP keep putting up rinos - until it is made clear to them that only conservatives candidates have a chance, the march to the left will continue.

Isn’t it funny how DeVore is not blasting the real RINO, Campbell?

For weeks now, as registered Republicans, we've been getting tons of campaign literature.....nary a single piece from Devore.

That's because DeVore's message is on the back of milk cartons. ROFL

Exactly. The 16% guy feels since he won’t win he will try to take out Fiorina, the Republican who can beat Left Wing Dem, Boxer

The fatal weakness is Carly herself.

IMHO, the disheartening trolls want to suppress the DeVore turnout because they like the growth of government and have no love for a free republic. Though campbell would be bad, I think Fiorino worse.

It would be a terrible tragedy to waste the opportunity provided by the tea party rebellion to rid the nation of Senator Barbara Boxer by offering a Barbara Boxer lite as her replacement instead of a solid conservative in the person of Chuck DeVore.

THE GOOD NEWS:
The percentage I’m witnessing from the calls I’ve been making for GOTV to registered republicans in Los Angeles makes the polls all look like cooked numbers.

Hence, I believe Norms perspective on this race has been correct all along.

Go DeVore.
Keep the Tea Party revolt alive.
Vote DeVore!

But do you have a substantive response to the post?

DeVore can't convince a majority of Republicans that he should be the candidate; Campbell shouldn't, period. Leaving Fiorina - but I also worked at HP, and she was not well-liked nor respected, and I haven't heard anything good from her since. Fiorina comes across fair in the interviews I've heard, and has terrific endorsements — but what about DeVore's point?

Boxer is a dirty, merciless campaigner. What's Fiorina going to come back with, on the specifics DeVore identifies?

It is moot.

The general election will be Fiorina vs Boxer

One way Boxer could be reelected is for the
all or nothing crowd to sit at home election day
and others to vote third party.
These people are more concerned about punishment then saving America

Boy, I really hope Fiorina's supporters have more than "If people don't vote for Fiorina, well, they're poopy-heads!" Because that's pretty much cancelled out by the purists' "If people DO vote for Fiorina, well, they're poopy-heads!"

Fiorina has to have a positive case, but she also has to be able to answer Boxer's absolutely-certain-you-can-bet-the-ranch-on-it mudslinging.

I volunteered for Herschensohn. Don't want to go there again.

(By “go there” I mean see Boxer’s opponent go down in muddy flames.)

Ayyyye,, One more battle.. One more election..

Ask not for who the TEA brews

It brews for thee ,, SIP Hardy!

SideNote — The SIP thingy came to mind earlier as a response to a comment Charles Krauthammer made referring to some in the TEA Party as ‘Separatist Insurgents’ or such so hence SIP.

A Republic.. if you can keep it.

Goddyup!
