Paul McCartney Bashes Bush in Front of Obama and White House Guests By Noel Sheppard Created 06/03/2010 - 15:14
Former Beatles star Paul McCartney took a cheap shot at George W. Bush Wednesday evening after receiving an award from Barack Obama.
McCartney was honored in the East Room of the White House by the President, his family, and a star-studded guest list that included Stevie Wonder, Dave Grohl, Faith Hill, the Jonas Brothers, Jack White, Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris, Herbie Hancock, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Jerry Seinfeld.
After receiving the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, McCartney told the audience, "After the last eight years, it's good to have a president that knows what a library is" (video follows with commentary):
Potentially even more disgraceful, those in the audience wildly applauded after McCartney made this disgusting comment.
Isn't that special?
Two weeks ago, a Mexican president got cheered [0] by Democrats in Congress when he insulted Arizona's governor and every American that supports that state's new anti-illegal immigration law.
Days later, a British pop star insults our 43rd president -- while being honored by our nation in THE WHITE HOUSE!!! -- and those in attendance think it's a riot.
Makes you proud to be an American, doesn't it?
Post facto exit question: McCartney is touring America this summer. Will this comment help or hurt ticket sales?
Who cares, I never liked the Beatles anyway
I’m with you!
Paul McCartney is a miserable old man. He married a one legged gold-digger and hasn’t written a decent song in 35 years. He was out-manuevered by a pedophile for ownership of his own songs. STFU and go away already you has-been.
“Hmmm, Obama a Harvard grad”
...there’s no proof the kenyan is a Harvard grad.

The Fool on the Hill.
what a JOKE.....he said this to the ADMINISTRATION that seems unable to READ BILLS! Let alone anything else of substance.
And some of you Freepers are just young whippersnappers. No offense.

McCartney Rocks Library of Congress
The assembled press, who did not shy away from asking McCartney for an occasional autograph, also took the opportunity to pose more difficult questions to Macca, even asking the rock icon to offer his thoughts on the BP disaster. But McCartney, ever the British gentleman, was careful not to say anything too controversial. Im not a politician, I wouldnt know, he said of the spill. I think its terrible but its too big a question for me to answer.
This goofy liberal mantra about Bush being dumb....Bush can FLY a jet fighter....
NONE of his critics can...and that includes Obozo and Gore (who operated a typewitter in Nam).
Obama tried to use a WINDOW for a door at the White House (after being there 9 days). Obama said he visited all 57 states...Obama cannot make a complete sentense without a teleprompter... BUT BUSH is the dumbass....
They’re worse than Jed, etc. The Clampetts were, at least, decent people, which is more than anyone can say about the trash currently occupying the White House.
Only way the UK will rise over the prominence of the US is for the US to be knocked down a few pegs.
Someone on the Rush thread posted this link to the Rolling Stone article about this event.

I just ate lunch and nearly lost it.
I never thought Paul was smart; he was just a great songster. But it’s NOT his bleeping President. So shut up and sing, Macca.
But how depressing to learn that Elvis Costello can’t even SPEAK with correct grammar. Maybe Bill Ayers wrote his good stuff too.
Also, here is my caption for the photo (a Getty photo that will not be copied) in the RS article:
McCartney: “Okayyy, Mr. President, you can let go now... It’s MY award..”
Obama: “But if I do that, I won’t be in the photo...”
I would have expected a little more class from Paul McCartney. It was a classless, unnecessary, cheap shot. These people really need to get over President Bush. After all the money President Bush sent to Africa I was surprised when Bono, not long ago, took some kind of cheap shot too at President Bush.
Apropos comments on the Limey Lefty.
and this:
“hasnt written a decent song in 35 years”
is very true of so many former stars.
God withdraws His gifts when He decides, doesn’t he?
And wise.
Once again showing the class of individuals in and around the White House now...a dignitary would not have dared to slam an American President while W was in office. But, the democrats, pigs all...are entertained by ignorant, hateful rantings. It is what makes them think they have value, when in truth they have none whatsoever.
Nonetheless, you get my point.
Post of the Day!!!!!
And you spell like al baby
