"The present situation of the Korean peninsula is so grave that a war may break out any moment," Ri Jang Gon, North Korea's deputy ambassador in Geneva, told the United Nations-sponsored Conference on Disarmament.

North Korea's troops were on "full alert and readiness to promptly react to any retaliation," including the scenario of all-out war, he told the forum.

The rhetoric out of NK is at times hard to take serious on the one hand. But on the other hand we have seen incidents like the USS Pueblo, Paul Baunyan, assassination of Korean govt officials, downing of airliner, nuke tests, ICBM tests, and the Cheonan . . . things are tense, and the NORKs are crazy

I wonder if Ri’s brain was plugged into Central Command via a LAN cable, or if the norks have mastered wireless yet.

NK knows that, today, there's not a nation on earth that they need fear.Just one more reason why we shouldn't have elected an unapologetic Maoist as president.

I have "bad vibes" about our large carrier being sent into those waters.

Any evidence of forward movement towards the DMZ by North Korean troops?

The norks won’t last long in battle. Their troops are malnourished, and poorly trained with out dated weapons.
It wouldn’t be very smart to use a nuke either due to the close proximities of the 2 countries.

A lot of hot air from the little mad hatter of norks.

Same old stuff, different day. The NORKs rattle their sabers, exact some concessions from the west, then quiet down for awhile. And start the process all over again.

My God...what have *you* been smokin',friend? An attack would be the smartest thing they could do.Imagine the promises of cash they'd get from SK,Japan, the US and Europe after they had attacked. Why,after the dust had settled the NK leadership and army would be awash with yen,dollars,euros....

I would call sinking a S. Korean naval vessel with 46 hands on board a little more than just “rattling the sabers” . . .

That’s OK - Li’l Kim and Obozo will play a round of golf together, tell us they each scored an 18 and the world will be one again.

When people lose everything and have nothing left to lose, they lose it - Gerald Celente

Oh, and not just people. Countries too.

That said, I think he’s just saber rattling to get a few hundred million more. But you never know. Remember the little boy who cried wolf? Eventually the wolf did show up.

Within the last week or so, no. Just prior to that, yes.

And hopefully only a few hundred thousand South Koreans will die.
