AMSTERDAM — Joran van der Sloot can be charming, angry, deceitful, tearful. The young Dutchman has been all that and more, playing out his troubled drama on TV over the five years since he came under suspicion in the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

By his own admission, half of what he says is a lie.

Twice arrested and released for lack of evidence in the Holloway case, Van der Sloot was taken into custody again last week in connection with the slaying in Peru of Stephany Flores, a 21-year-old college student police say he met while playing poker at a Lima casino. Her May 30 killing came five years to the day after Holloway disappeared.

Go ahead and post it as a separate thread, but since it’s an AP article, you have to be VERY careful about the excerpt — it has to be very short, but I’m unsure of the precise rules.

Paulus may have wanted to fake his own death/funeral so that he could live life under a brand new identity not under the constant glare of the international press.

I didn't see where any posters said that it would help or assist his son ---- but, IF he was implicated in the criminal underworld, he'd certainly have an easier time "earning" his money outside of the MSM spotlight.

Just a few stray thoughts.... there have been so many lies from Aruba, and the posters felt it strange that he had just disbanded his law firm and that there was no autopsy.

The Peruvian judge instituted a Gag Order, so IMO, it’s going to be difficult to locate any informative articles for quite a while.

My notes: Depending on how the security cameras are set up the time and date stamps can be linked or independent. Thus the 13 minutes between the hotel lobby photos and the hotel room door photos may be just the setting of two different cameras. If they are linked and have one date/time setting then it shows they took 13 plus minutes to get up to the third floor.
ALSO
The cameras could be set to 12 hr or 24 hour times…if set to 12 hour this could mean they arrived at 5:20:49 pm…
I’ve only seen that they left the casino in the early hours of the morning so am assuming this is actually AM.

A little bit of Nasty Gracy goes a long long long way; however, I do admire her for ALWAYS sticking up for the victim --- AND, also it's important to realize that Nancy Grace's show is broadcast in plenty of foreign countries --- and I presume that Peruvians are watching it, even if they have to watch it online, ya know?

Did you happen to watch from the beginning tonight?

I heard a quote from the brother, something about his sister, something like, "She didn't have an eye," and I wonder if that means that the eyes were swollen shut --- as opposed to NG reporting that the beating was so severe that JVDS had removed one of her eyeballs????

Noone else is reporting that the corpse was missing an eyeball......

Well, IMNSHO, Joran is a Class A Psychopath, so it seems to me that he'll be "in his element" in a Peruvian prison, and within weeks will have dozens of gophers beneath him, attempting to predict & satisfy every single one of his needs & wants.

I'm serious.

If he's being locked up with serious homocidal freaks, he's gonna feel right at home and since he's a true clinical psychopath, I believe that HE will rule the roost, and I'm not joking.

I don't think the other prisoners are gonna try to kill him --- and if they do, he's such a media star that he'll be segregated from them.
