If stephanie did fight with him, then there may be Joran’s DNA under her fingernails.
I suspect he lured her to his hotel room either by drugging her or promising her something.
But Joran KNEW she had 5,000 on her and he needed money. So what happened is left to anyone's vivid imagination.
You can bet he's got a whooper to tell. The first one will be "I found her dead and ran because I knew no one would believe me".
Hope she has his DNA under her fingernails.
JVDS should be very prominent on the Interpol most wanted list. He had better have a lot of money available to bribe government officials and police in most Asian and African countries.
I doubt that he’ll have access to a continuous large supply of money. He’ll be flagged in all casinos that he uses as hunting grounds.
The girl’s family must have more means than JVDS. They surely could pay higher bribes to grab him!

I can't imagine being cursed with the reputation of having Joran as your older brother; plus now the fact that they lost their father at a very early age. Besides having ANITA for a mom, they've got not much going for them, ya know?? Really PATHETIC.

Lorenzo Van Rijn: Supposedly a bastard son of Paul van der Sloot and half-brother to Joran. Suspected of drug-trafficking. Named as being the ‘Daury’, that supposedly had helped Joran to dump Natalee’s body.

Online cyberbullies at the first Scared Monkeys messageboards would viciously attack anyone who mentioned the possibility that she wasn't dead.
What was even worse to me, though, was that BEFORE THE DOCTOR PHIL SHOW, whenever anyone posed the idea of sexual slavery with her mom Beth Twitty, Beth would say -in essence- NO, I KNOW SHE'S DEAD AND I HAVE TO ACCEPT THAT.
That would just blow me away. There is NO way that I'd ever accept that a blood relative was dead - when NO body had been found. But... as they say, "To each, their own."
I believe that during one interview that Beth mentioned that the FBI had emphatically told her that they believed that Natalee was dead. HOWEVER, whenever one reads about sexual slavery and dungeon brothels, the idea that NH might be being held against her will -- it makes perfect logical sense.
Who'd have thought that these staunch supporters of Joran would pay any attention to his second murder?

I do believe that within every lie are small facts, or truth which is a form of “liars glue”. (We saw that with Casey Anthony and Drew Peterson.)
e.g. In every version of Natalee’s demise, Joran always mentions disposing of her (or her body) in the ocean, from a boat and with help from another man.

IIRC he also hinted at throwing her body from a boat with help - that sounded like help from Daddy.
