So now the rap on President Obama is that his response to the oil spill along the Gulf Coast hasn't been heartfelt enough. He comes off as emotionally detached, critics say, and, by the way, isn't it a pity that the white folk from the coastal red states who never wanted a black man in the White House in the first place are complaining that he doesn't care about them?
Talk about projecting their hard feelings onto others.
"The politics of the disaster are Cajun hot, but Obama is cerebral cool," wrote Howard Fineman on msnbc.com. So we get our first black president -- and he's criticized for being too smart and not temperamental enough! Obama just can't seem to catch a break. He gets no credit for doing right and gets blamed even when he does nothing wrong.
Fineman, who penned one of the classier critiques, urged Obama to put some "Tabasco" into his reactions. No doubt the president would then be criticized for being a hotheaded militant. But he should go for it anyway.

Sure, Hussein’s backstory didn’t stand much scrutiny. Sure, none of our finest Finemans ever explained who backed the Quisatz Haderach’s remarkable glide from Punahou to Occidental to Columbia to Harvard to Chicago to the state senate to the U.S. Senate to the White House.
True, there was some oblique acknowledgment of his family’s radicalism, his strange mentoring by a Communist, Frank Marshall Davis, his admitted drug use, and the curious case of the editor of the Harvard Law Review who never quite managed to publish anything, although he probably shot plenty of hoops.

Is someone surprised? I’d be stunned if he was NOT a committed Marxist in college. There’s no other way to explain his behavior and associations otherwise? He just didn’t magically “become” Marxist in 2004. These things take years.

The black president does not know how to act. A magnificent admission. Some unsolicited advice. He could try acting like the president of the US.
Sending his AG to the coast with an agenda to sue the pants off BP does not remove one drop of oil from the coast. Try getting the oil cleaned up. There will plenty of time to file law suits after the problems are resolved.
The gov has more to lose than gain with law suits. They did, after all, approve all of the duly filed applications for the oil platform including pipe thicknesses, safety procedures and etc. BP will not have a hard time legally shifting culpability to the feds for the failure of the rig.

What response? The federal government hasn’t done a thing except tell BP that it’s all their fault. The EPA tells BP what dispersants it can use. As far as I can see, BP is the only entity doing anything about the spill.
Many black conservatives are running in various election races and I hope they all win just to be able to rub it in the faces of all the liberal racists in Washington DC who discount minority conservative candidates!
