I read Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu’s definition of Israel’s raid on a Turkish-flagged blockade runner as “murder conducted by a state.”

When a soldier (or anybody else) uses deadly force to protect himself from assailants who are armed with deadly weapons like guns, knives, firebombs, and iron bars–and there is video footage of the “peace activists” using these on the Israelis before the Israelis responded with deadly force–that is not “murder conducted by a state.” It is the exercise of self-defense, a right to which any human being is entitled. I also remind you that the ship that carried your flag had the option of docking at a checkpoint as required but failed to do so, thus giving Israel every right in the world to believe it might have been carrying contraband such as weapons and other material support for terrorists.
